Obama friend's child hurt on Hawaiian vacation

An ambulance leaves the neighborhood where President Obama and his family are vacationing in Hawaii.
An ambulance leaves the neighborhood where President Obama and his family are vacationing in Hawaii.

HONOLULU, Hawaii (CNN) - The child of one of President Barack Obama's golf partners suffered a cut chin during the president's Hawaiian vacation Monday, prompting a stir when Obama quickly left the course so his partner could attend to the child.

The president and his entourage quickly left the Luana Hills golf course outside Honolulu and an ambulance was called to the vacation home the first family has rented on the north side of Oahu. A White House aide told CNN that the child who was hurt was treated on the scene, but could go to a hospital later as a precaution.

Neither Obama's golf partner nor the child were identified. Aides said no member of the first family was hurt in the incident, details of which were not immediately available.

The president later returned to the course.

– CNN Senior White House Correspondent Ed Henry contributed to this report.

Come on CNN. I'm a Democrat and think this is stupid. It was reported on your cable channel, do you really need to waste the white space on the political ticker?

In fact much of what is on the "political" ticker isn't worth reporting. Remember when news was actual news reporting? You know that stuff that involved investigation and facts and not endless polls and soap opera journalism.

First, CNN has been the hardest on this president while Bush got a free ride. Second, I keep hearing so called experts, poloiticians and ignorant people alike say how was this person able to enter this country. These individuals say what TSA needs to do but fail to recognize that this did not happen on U.S soil. If anyone has travelled to other countries they will know that the security measures are not as stringent as here. One can almost bring anything on board. What the United States need to do is revamp the Bush era No Fly List and ensure other countries have tighter security. There need to be an intelligence solution to terrorism. How could a person with not Checkin in or carry-on luggage get on a plane with no suspicion. Something went wron at the Port of Entry.

Anyone wonder what it cost us taxpayers for this little vacation.. You would think the President would set an example of frugile spending in this time of economic turmoil! I guess cutting back on spending does not fit into his vocabulary. You whiney supporters better wake up and smell the roses. His kind of change is not going to make this country stronger.

Make sure you follow-up with good story on the therapy, counseling, and how much the bill cost (and if the taxpayers or insurance paid for it). Good grief this is non-news.

An ambulance for a cut chin? I do hope that the child is okay; but this is overkill, not to mention a strain on local emergency resources. And to top it all off, a CNN story to calm everyone's nerves that despite the child of a golf partner getting a cut chin, our President can go resume his private golf vacation.

And I'm sorry, but since when does the President of the United States deserve privacy...especially in the midst of terrorism threats to our citizens. We mustn't bother Mr. Obama with our trivial matters.

And to say that he has had the "toughest job of all Presidents" is a slap in the face to Lincoln, Kennedy, Roosevelt, Reagan and others who had to deal with far more serious issues. Give it a rest. Wait, he is.

I guess we tax payers will have to depend on the paparazzi to tell us which mobster from Chicago Obama invited along to party on the taxpayers dime. We know the socialist propaganda media such as CNN will never reveal that information. Now, if we could only get Dear Leader to interrupt his golf game to address the rash of terrorist attacks under his watch.

I work and most friends are unemployed as Obama golfs and spends $4000 a night for a Hawaiian rental.

My daughter cut her chin when she fell in the bathroom and hit her chin on the edge of the tub.

Cut chins bleed profusely. Often they require stitches.

This whole thing is NOT newsworthy. Other than the media is going to go after Obama for just about anything.

There was an attempted terrorist attack, millions of Americans are out of work and out of money, people are losing their homes, the economy is in the tank and you call this news. Get real! I would really love for the President and the media to concentrate on the problems facing America NOW!

What are some people talking about. I know we have un employment, recession etc, what can the man do, he is trying his best to batch the holes of the past, Remember he did not create unemployment, recession etc, he is working hard like any president to make things good for all Americans, plus if you are sane enough don't you think after what he has gone through this year he needs a quite VACATION for a few days just like everyone else? Give us a break!!! If it were Bush riding horses in his Texas Ranch, and the troops are dying in Iraq, what would you say? Stop this small talks and lets work together to build this country back to where it was when Mr Clinton was in power.

It seems the president can't have a normal vacation, he is working his butt off for the American people and really needs a break. Love the first family. Good that it was not serious and he returned to play golf.
