Senior Obama administration officials now say they are starting to see an Al Qaeda connection to the attempted terror attack on a U.S.-bound airliner.

Honolulu, Hawaii (CNN) - In a marked shift from previous positions, senior Obama administration officials now say they are starting to see an al Qaeda connection to the attempted terror attack on a U.S.-bound airliner.

In the days after the failed attempt on Christmas Day, administration officials steadfastly shied away from linking the incident to the terror group and, in some cases, said there was no evidence of such a connection.

But one senior administration officials said late Tuesday that "some of the new information that we developed overnight does suggest that there was some linkage there" with al Qaeda.

The senior administration official was referring to intelligence that White House officials obtained late Monday night and then briefed President Obama about on Tuesday in a secure conference call.

The secure call, which included National Security Adviser Gen. Jim Jones and top homeland security adviser John Brennan, took place shortly before the president delivered public remarks suggesting there were "systemic and human failures" that prevented the government from stopping the attempted terror attack.

Once again the teleprompter president and his appointees show how truly incompetent they are!!! The US and its allies have been protected from attack, that’s until the Democrats / liberals took over Congress and the down hill spiral began, capped off by a community organizer / social worker getting elected president. This maybe the first president that has to resign for being incompetent. Pity the America public.

The young man in question has been charged with trying to blow up an airliner. He has not been charged with trying to kill hundreds of innocent passengers. Why would it surprise anyone that this administration would have to be forced to believe that this young man was acting with the help of al Qaeda? Pathetic.

The Obama administration is "starting" to see a connection to Al Qaeda? Come on people, that was evident from the very beginning, indeed his father said as much months ago. The same tactic was used by an Al Qaeda opeartive earlier this year (Al Asiri concealed the bomb, made of PETN, in his underwear, according to the official Saudi investigation0 .. The idea that I might agree with Dick Cheney scares the heck out of me, but in this case I think he may be right.

System worked is the Obama Administrations response. Yea Right. Why isnt Obama's staff now being chastized for how unsafe they have made this country. Obama Cannot blame this one on Bush. Its an Obama screwup and Obama has made travel unsafe. Is Obama and his administration bent on the destruction of America? Is Obama part of the big muslim jihad plan to destroy America? Is Obama and his administration really muslims with a plan? Is Obama truely loyal to America and the American people? Or is Obama's true muslim side coming out and he doesnt care about the American people. We need to ask the question and Obama needs to answer without the smoke screens

Obama, the system Did Not Work.

New information developed? What a joke. Did they find an Al Qaeda membership card in his wallet? Maybe he had Al Qaeda embroidered in his underwear? How about a tattoo of OBL on his butt?

This administration is completely clueless. Maybe the fact his father basically told us back in November he was turning Jihadist? How about the fact he disappeared and spent months in Yemen? Maybe a quick check of his internet posting?

To claim, as the POTUS did on Monday, that he was an 'isolated extremist' was just the biggest in a stream of lies we have been fed by this administration since the inauguration.

It's so fun to see this administration change it's stance every day depending on whatever the polls and the pundits are saying. Obama and his band of thugs and clowns are completely incompetent.
