New Years resolutions for Obama - from Karl Rove

Rove has some New Year's resolutions for Obama.
Rove has some New Year's resolutions for Obama.

(CNN) - If President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, or other members of the administration are having any trouble coming up with some New Year's resolutions for 2010, former top Bush aide Karl Rove is eager to help.

Writing in his weekly Wall Street Journal column Thursday, Rove offers a bevy of goals to the president himself, the vice president, and his top aides.

To the president - Rove says Obama needs to be more clear in what he is thinking - ensuring he doesn't leave a diverse group of people with the impression the president agrees with all of them - and must make sure to "mean what he says:"

Mr. Obama should work on his habit of leaving a room of people with deeply divided opinions thinking he agrees with all of them. That leads to disagreements over essential issues, like the meaning of his pledge to begin withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2011 and the nature of the new military mission there.

To the vice president - Rove says Biden should speak publicly less:

Every time he opens his mouth, the West Wing staff uses him to make the president look good by comparison.

To the president's staff - Rove says they should resolve to orchestrate a few less 'historic moments' and keep the president off TV more.

Why not resolve to have a few less "historic" moments? How many can one president really have, anyway? A little more grace toward his predecessor would help him, as would less TV time. He is wearing out his welcome and his speechwriters—judging by the quality of their work lately.

To White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers - Rove says she needs to keep an eye on those guest lists:

[She] should take a lead from Santa Clause and make her list and check it twice . . . at the White House gates.

My new years resolution for Karl Rove is for him to turn in himself and the rest of the Bush administration for war crimes and treason for lying to the American Public while in office.

"A little grace" coming from Turd Blossom? The sheer irony of Rove's nonsense...

Bush's "brain" is STILL trying to impose his destructive divisions upon our great nation, instead of approaching our fellow Americans (ALL of them) with common cause as the Obama administration is doing.

Keep up the great work, President Obama! Please continue to rise above these ridiculous distractions for the American people.

A Healthy & Happy New Year to everyone!

Awesome. Turdblossom's making a comeback by trying to advise our new president in the same way he advised our old president.

Rove was the architect of the massive failure that was the Bush administration from the first minute of its first day in 2001 until its last second in 2009. Enough said.

Here's a resolution for Mr. Rove: Stop teaching at his "anything goes" school of fear politics. He's contributed to the fall of the Republican party with his smear-and-lie tactics. Maybe they'd recover if he kept his mouth shut.

It terrifies me that anyone even listens to this guy or thinks he has any status to be giving advice to the president. His ship sailed a year ago, and it wasn't even that big a ship.

This criminal has the audacity to speak of things he knows nothing about, because if he knew something about government, the Bush administration would not of been such an utter failure

How about a resolution for Karl Rove.... Shut up! Same goes for Dick Cheney, Dana Perino, and the rest of the clueless band former West Wingers who are wrong more often than they were ever right, but that doesn't keep them from lying about it.

Why on Earth would he listen to Karl Rove? And why would we want him to? Rove is a hack and needs to go away.

This is great! Karl Rove, the architect of one of the most dysfunctional American administrations in history, giving President Obama advice! What next, Karl, some marriage counseling for the President and First Lady. I think it's about time for the Turd Blossom and Darth Chaney to start supporting our country and stop giving aid and comfort to our enemies.

The last person who should be giving advice to anyone is Mr. Rove. If he thinks that you are doing something wrong then you are obviously heading in the right direction.

  24. Politics In Washington??

The "Architect" of the Bush Era giving advice? True, the Obama administration is spending trillions but it is to clean up the mess of this builder of hockey. 911 and the financial meltdown and the diplomatic isolation of America happened on his advice–does Obama or any other reasonable person want more of that?

This is the man who put Bush in the oval office. Given the results, It is amazing to me that he should have the audacity to offer advice to anyone any longer and even more amazing that a reputable news organization would print it.
