(CNN) – North Dakota Rep. Earl Pomeroy will not run for the Senate in 2010, two Democratic congressional leadership sources tell CNN.

Pomeroy will make the announcement this afternoon that he will not seek to succeed retiring Sen. Byron Dorgan, a fellow Democrat. A Senate Democratic leadership source noted that national Democrats are eyeing former state Attorney General Heidi Heitkamp as a possible candidate to run for the seat.

MSNBC talk show host Ed Schultz said in an interview on the cable network Wednesday that a state Democratic leader has reached out asking him to consider running for Dorgan's seat.

  1. One deadbeat down; 59 more to go

If we can get rid of a few more Democrats, we have a chance of saving this nation from the financial destruction and socialistic nonsense wrought by Oblah Blah, Earmark Pelosi, and Partisan Reid – all comrades in arms

Good luck Mr. Hoeven. Of course with opponents of the ilk of Ed Schultz, you won't need luck to prevail.

It looks like the Democrats are running away from the November election allready. I feel that this November election will be a butt whipping for the Democrats. Hopefully the conservative thinkers will take over our government and end this crazy unethical congress.

It seems to me that an enemy combatant must be captured in a battlefield during a war. And as despicable as the act of attempting to blow up this jetliner is, it just seems ridiculous to me that people like the Cheneys would want to apply the laws of our country not to be applied as it's stated on the books, but to suit their very narrow minded political opinions. I would like to know, from when a civilian of another country who commits a crime against The US in American Judicial jurisdiction should be transferred to a battlefield situation and tried as a so called military combatant.

Even prisoners of war have the right to due process. Are the Cheneys now saying that other countries must now start to do this when American citizens are caught committing the same crimes? Should they be put before a military tribunal too? What is good for the goose is should also good for the gander.

The Democrats are going down in 2010 and they know it.
You can't pass a dozen major bills that the majority of voters don't want and survive as the majority party. Dumbest collection of idiots in the history of America.

Same party which means he will not win election. The public is tired of the hiding while creating a health care plan out of sight of the American people. We do not want more of the tax and spend with the secret pay offs for votes that has been demonstrated by the demorat party.

What NOW? Are the Democratic Corporatists just gonna give it ALL to the Republican Corporatists? They sure did on the Health Care Front! Many More items that PROVE this point: Funding for WARS, the Rich Tax Cuts, NO Taxes on those Rich to pay for the Commons and much more. Selling off the Commons to the Corporations who have befouled and Toxified our communities, the WATER (A Biggie), The OIL, The Parks, the Food, the Seas and just about everything else. Creating Homelessness and Poverty with rotten WAGES, Inflated Prices, Corporate Fraud you never address and just what else do you want me to believe about your intentions, Anyone in Politics? Sorry Bernie, Dennis, Alan Grayson and others. We know who you are and what you do, but you are swimming upstream, folks. Almost forget to mention the mostly Sold-Out Media! It must be hard to try to serve many Masters! Peace and please have the nerve to publish this, CNN! Another one sees the end story and quits!
