Washington (CNN) – President Obama’s top budget official acknowledged Wednesday fathering a child out of wedlock, less than two weeks after announcing his engagement to another woman.
Office of Management and Budget Director Peter Orszag and the mother of the child, Claire Milonas, released a statement announcing the birth of their daughter soon after the New York Post reported the news on its Web site.
“We were in a committed relationship until the spring of 2009,” Orszag and Milonas said in a joint statement. “In November, Claire gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Although we are no longer together, we are both thrilled she is happy and healthy, and we would hope that everyone will respect her privacy.”
Orszag recently announced his engagement to ABC News Correspondent Bianna Golodryga.
A source close to Orszag, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, emphasized that the “relationship was clearly over before he met Bianna.”
“They are two adults who are working out what’s best for everyone,” the source said of Orszag and Milonas.
Orszag has two children from a previous marriage.

A committed relationship!?!? What a pitiful joke. This guy has two children by a previous marriage, and has broken up with the mother of his third child. He is committed to no one but himself. Mature people make a commitment to one another, and then make a commitment to their children. They take responsibility. This guy turns my stomach, but he is just like his peers in the federal government – absolutely and purely self-centered and unworthy of human respect. If this guy slipped on the ice and fell under a bus, I wouldn't stop to watch the wheels roll over him.

Is this really news? I'm not a big Obama supporter but seriously? Let's put a spin on this and make it sound like they are holding orgies in the White House. People have children out of wedlock every day. Some are planned, some are not. Get a grip and find a real story to report on.

Um, who cares? Not politically newsworthy unless you're trying to spin it into the Washington version of Gisele Bundchen/Tom Brady/Bridget Moynihan. I would expect that of TMZ not CNN.
Who cares that he fathered a child out of wedlock? Was this reported because he works at the WH? Please, report on something that is worthy.
Is this really news in 2010? Why not just say illegitimate kid of official...this is absolutely ridiculous and offensive to refer to the child in this way. Since when are does CNN write to appeal to the ultra conservatives or report the birth of a child to elected officials? Congratulations to the parents...your child is a blessing and the status of your relationship at the time of birth is irrelevant.
