Washington (CNN) – President Obama’s top budget official acknowledged Wednesday fathering a child out of wedlock, less than two weeks after announcing his engagement to another woman.
Office of Management and Budget Director Peter Orszag and the mother of the child, Claire Milonas, released a statement announcing the birth of their daughter soon after the New York Post reported the news on its Web site.
“We were in a committed relationship until the spring of 2009,” Orszag and Milonas said in a joint statement. “In November, Claire gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Although we are no longer together, we are both thrilled she is happy and healthy, and we would hope that everyone will respect her privacy.”
Orszag recently announced his engagement to ABC News Correspondent Bianna Golodryga.
A source close to Orszag, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, emphasized that the “relationship was clearly over before he met Bianna.”
“They are two adults who are working out what’s best for everyone,” the source said of Orszag and Milonas.
Orszag has two children from a previous marriage.

Wow, he's certainly been busy. Two kids from a prior marriage, fathering a child while in a committed relationship until Spring 2009, and now engaged to be married to yet another woman as of December 2009. When does he get any work done?
"Out of Wedlock"????? What is this, 1964???? Marriage is a religious institution isn't important to everyone, just the older and more conservative folks.

Why would this story ever reach front page CNN.com? I'm continually loosing respect for this news agency when they'e sinking so low that a top story is about a WH aid having a child out of wed lock. Is that really public knowledge worthy?
And why is this a big deal? Most couples live together without getting married and have children. Isn't this "out of wedlock" too? Look at Tom Brady.

I'm a card-carrying member of the GOP, and normally would be more than happy to see the President's administration taken down a peg or two. This, however, is not news. Mr. Orszag's child is of absolutely no consequence to the rest of the nation, and does not reflect poorly on his boss in any way whatsoever. Kudos to the parents for keeping a positive attitude for the sake of their child, and shame on CNN for not only publishing this article, but linking it as a top headline.
NO ONE could have a personal life like this if he were truly committed to this particular position at this particular time in our nation's history.
And, if we lived in the 1950s, this would be news.
