Washington (CNN) – President Obama’s top budget official acknowledged Wednesday fathering a child out of wedlock, less than two weeks after announcing his engagement to another woman.
Office of Management and Budget Director Peter Orszag and the mother of the child, Claire Milonas, released a statement announcing the birth of their daughter soon after the New York Post reported the news on its Web site.
“We were in a committed relationship until the spring of 2009,” Orszag and Milonas said in a joint statement. “In November, Claire gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Although we are no longer together, we are both thrilled she is happy and healthy, and we would hope that everyone will respect her privacy.”
Orszag recently announced his engagement to ABC News Correspondent Bianna Golodryga.
A source close to Orszag, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, emphasized that the “relationship was clearly over before he met Bianna.”
“They are two adults who are working out what’s best for everyone,” the source said of Orszag and Milonas.
Orszag has two children from a previous marriage.

Is this News? OMG
Morality has gone to the dogs. Would you have a cup of coffee with this guy and not get morally dirty. Show me the ponds that such creatures hatch and I will show you hell. I am surprised that the President would prefer associates like this guy.
This is not news....who cares!!!
A persons' private should be just that...private!
Hello??? Not a news story and certainly none of my business.
Come on, CNN....get a grip.
Ansd so what. Just something else for the republicans to complain about.
"out of wedlock" baby? Really? I didn't realize it was 1950 again. At least you didn't call the child illegitimate. Or call the new mother a spinster. Since when does CNN judge what consenting adults do legally.
Not that I care about "character," except that I DO.
How about Obama?
nice...the dude finds out his girlfriend is pregnant and then he runs...to the WHITE HOUSE!!!! gotta love those family values democrats...
this is NOT news
Big deal. It's their life.
Congrats to Orszag, that is all that need be said. A healthy baby girl is a thing to be celebrated, not included in any pundit's monologue or blogger's self-righteous witticisms. Can we please mind our own business?
Why do you think we care?
Who cares? Seriously? This is getting out of hand. This is CNN, not US weekly.
Great filler article. Consenting adults, nothing illegal or remotely newsworthy except perhaps the chance to throw in a phrase from the early 20th century. "Out of wedlock" OMG, what a crisis! Par for the course really for this website. One of these days CNN should think about appointing an ombudsman....
And this is news why?
When - in recent history - has there EVER been a more despicable group of Presidential advisors (under the guise of "benefiting Americans") - than in Obama administration? And LIbs call this guy a "hunk"? Yeah - you got him– YOU live with him. As for me, my family and friends - NO, THANK YOU!
...Who cares? Honestly?
guess he'll be paying some child support... mom knows where this joker works...
Truthfully, these things happen all the time, I see nothing wrong (ie. newsworthiness) in how these adults handled this. People like to pretend these things only happen to certain types of people, but in reality, relationships take on all sorts of twists and turns and this (a child) is one. Hopefully she never grows up and learns that she first "made news" as an out-of-wedlock child. Congratulations to all on a precious little baby girl.
This kind of gossip belongs in the National Enquirer, not the CNN political ticker.
Children being born out of wedlock, as difficult as it is for everyone involved, does not in any way, shape, or form, effect the policy descisions that effect our everyday lives.
Enough said.
Why is this news-worthy? Television, ads, and celebrities promote this behavior all the time, that seems to be the American way. Please go out and find something better to report on.
Big deal!!!! He's not the first, or the last.
Yes, CNN going to new lows. So what, he fathered a child with a woman he is nolonger in love with. I guess he should have marry her because of the child. Then you blame him after he marries her and cheats on her. Remember: Mark Sanford, Tiger Woods, Ensign, John Mccain and a number of other.
And why, exactly, is this news worthy?
so what????? that is his call, as long as he supports and is a father to the child
