Obama official confirms birth of child

White House Budget Director Peter Orszag released a statement Wednesday confirming the birth of an out-of-wedlock daughter.
White House Budget Director Peter Orszag released a statement Wednesday confirming the birth of an out-of-wedlock daughter.

Washington (CNN) – President Obama’s top budget official acknowledged Wednesday fathering a child out of wedlock, less than two weeks after announcing his engagement to another woman.

Office of Management and Budget Director Peter Orszag and the mother of the child, Claire Milonas, released a statement announcing the birth of their daughter soon after the New York Post reported the news on its Web site.

“We were in a committed relationship until the spring of 2009,” Orszag and Milonas said in a joint statement. “In November, Claire gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Although we are no longer together, we are both thrilled she is happy and healthy, and we would hope that everyone will respect her privacy.”

Orszag recently announced his engagement to ABC News Correspondent Bianna Golodryga.

A source close to Orszag, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, emphasized that the “relationship was clearly over before he met Bianna.”

“They are two adults who are working out what’s best for everyone,” the source said of Orszag and Milonas.

Orszag has two children from a previous marriage.

This has absolutely no news value. Trashy, trashy. Please stay away from TMZ like coverage...a majority of us hate it!

This is news? How desperate are we digging to say someone has a child out of wedlock? CNN get back to 2010.

Why is CNN even posting this? It seems they post things to get a rise out of people.

    Anyways,

I hope we don't see posts slamming this. Many Americans are born out of wedlock. All I say is, be a father to the child.

    Thank you.

This is not news and it is a private manner. This is not against the law and has nothing to do with this man's job.

Why is this news? Oh right, it's so the perfect holier than thou crowd can throw rocks from their glass houses. If he doesn't pay child support, then it might be news, otherwise he is no different than millions of other Americans but somebody will want to condemn him in a political way.

  12. THIS IS NEWS???

America alone has TONS of children out of wedlock; being a politician makes him special??? Good grief. Now IF he was on the Most Wanted list of child support evaders...THAT would be a little different.

Would it be too much to ask to have some REAL news? This type of article belongs in the tabloids (or Fox News).

Is CNN so hard up for news, that it has to humiliate someone whose behavior has zero effect on any other person? Shame on you! Have you no decency?

Why is this newsworthy? This type of thing happens all the time. As Americans, we believe in a fundamental right to have or not have children. Must have been a slow news day!!

It is 2010. Since when did someone having a baby outside of marriage become news!!! He wasn't even married to someone else. He was in a relationship with the woman. Seriously... are you just trying to sabotage him?

And apparently we're still in the 1950's... oh wait this probably wouldn't make national news even back then.

Who cares...? It's not the 1700's anymore, having a child "out of wedlock" is his business, not the rest of the world's.

Grover Cleveland fathered a kid out of wedlock in the 1880s, and he was a little higher up than a White House "aide." Scandalous then? Not really. So why are we so shocked a hundred and twenty years later? Because of mythical Republican "values," that's why. Get a life.
