(CNN) – Famed White House party crashers Tareq and Michaele Salahi are going from party crashers to guests of honor.
"President Obama's most unexpected guests" are slated to headline a party at Caesar's Palace nightclub on January 16, according to the event organizer's Web site.
The pair are reportedly being paid $5,000 total for the appearance, according to the New York Post. A spokesman for the event could not be reached to confirm that number.

The shallowness of our society is absolutely without bounds! From "balloon boy" to the Salahi's, from Anna Nicole Smith to Sarah Palin, we just keep getting dumber and dumber...and all the while lined up like lemmings to shell out money so we can be somehow like them...or close to them. What gives?
Why haven't they been arrested and charged with crimes yet? Certainly they had to, at the very least, have lied to government agents, which is a federal crime.
