Songwriter Ray Stevens dresses as a founding father in his YouTube sensation 'We the People.'

(CNN) – By 1990, two-time Grammy award winning recording artist Ray Stevens had four albums that had sold more than 500,000 copies. In 2010 and at almost 71-years-old, his new single entitled "We The People" is a YouTube sensation that has been viewed one-and-a-half million times in three weeks.

In the song, Stevens lambastes "Obamacare," a popular term among dissidents of the Democratic health care reform bills. "You vote Obamacare, We'll vote you outta here, We the People have awaken to your tricks," the songwriter sings.

Stevens is shown in front of backdrops of the U.S. Capitol Building, President Obama's first State of the Union address, the White House lawn and a very bright American flag.

He also appears as almost every character in the nearly four-minute video, including a plumber, doctor, grandmother, construction worker, farmer and founding father.

The country singer is known for his novelty songs and in 2002 released a single that went gold entitled "Osama Yo' Mama."

  1. Tea Party Sheep . . .

Who simply repeat whatever their "pig" masters tells them, just like in Orwell's "Animal House"

The Tea party movement is growing as more people realize and understand the destruction the Democrats are doing to this country. Those of you who criticize it, either love to pay HIGHER taxes or don't pay any at all and are on the freebie band wagon.

Does anyone in the Tea Party understand U.S. History or what the Constitution even is? Judging by the looks of their banners and followers – I would be surprised if any of them finished high school yet alone passed a college course in history.

Cool. I wish that it would stop Obamacare (which really doesn't supply any care).

Now let's see all the liberal haters get on here with comments about teabagging and other slanderous remarks and lies. It's funny how much hate liberals share if you have a different idea than they do. Everyone wants reform, dems want to buy it with money that isn't theirs and republicans want to fix money-wasting issues and bring the costs down so more can afford it....

Where were these people while the Bush administration inflated the federal budget at amazing rates and created a huge budget deficit? I'm sure they were cheering him on. Total hypocrisy.

Just another anti-liberal, american hating, bigoted rightwing teabagger. We have them here in real America. We call them traitors.
America was found by Liberals, and up to 30 years ago before the Anti-American conservatives took over the airwaves, our country was the bation of Hope, Liberty and Liberalism, everyhing that made us great.

The tea party movement too often results in an embarrassing collection of lemmings waving antagonistic signs, complaining about a state of affairs that has been in place for many years, egged on by the manipulations of a viewer-hungry media industry, big-business lobbyists and partisan functionaries. The Tea Party people and their fringe ideologies are unattractive to the centrists, moderates and independents who will always decide big elections in America. They are not helping the Republican cause.

The right wingnuts may as well sing. They have done zero for America nad the normal voters know this. Other than drawing pictures of Obama they have been useless. They will get what they deserve in November. Look what happened in NY state. It will happen nationwide because of these unstable freeks.

Are there anymore Z-list celebrities the conservatives can scrape up, all the while voicing their revulsion for celebrities?

Good job, guys. Keep writing kitsch-y, idiotic songs, hang teabags from your American flag cowboy hats, hold up misspelled protest signs, and carry on your way with huge chips in your shoulders and an absence of thought in your heads. Now can you please get out of the way and let the big kids do their jobs? Thank you.

This is just stupid. The whole tea party movement has no clue. They always spit out garbage like, "this is not what the founding fathers intended" when they really have no idea what that means and how it doesn't apply to modern times at all.

These folks obviously are not real bright. Appears that hey really do not know what they are protesting or what they really want as the individuals are unable to explain their positions. If it was not for the organization and backing of the insurance industry and Faux news, there would not be a tea party movement.

In the end they will likely hurt the Republican Party and will not stop Obamacare – thank God.

I sincerely believe that if Jesus was walking the earth today, he would be a Democrat and the tea partiers would be calling for his crucifixion.

It's amazing to see these folks walking around talking "We the People" and dressed up in period clothing. Do they want us to give up our cars and trade in for horse and carriage transportation as well?

Tea party movement popularity is the perfect example of the pathetic condition of education system in this country. Most of these folks are non college graduates who use obscene to bellicose slogans to get their messages out.

Some of us in America are honored to pay our taxes and understand it as a necessity, burdensome or not. If you consider yourself an American you should worry more about the people and a little less about the pocketbook.
