(CNN) - Rep. Aaron Schock fell victim to the six inches of snow that fell on Peoria, Illinois Thursday afternoon, getting into what his office is describing as a "minor fender-bender" on his way to an event.
According to spokesman David Natonski, Schock skidded on an icy road and collided with another vehicle. No injuries resulted and Schock even made his event on time.
News of the accident broke on the celebrity Web site TMZ, which noted the youngest member of Congress's abs "remained unscathed"
Schock himself made light of the TMZ coverage on his Twitter account Friday – while taking a dig at embattled golfer Tiger Woods.
"Glad tmz is reporting on a car accident that doesn't involve fire hydrants or golf clubs and I'm glad no one was hurt," tweeted Schock.
And this is news because...
Is this really newsworthy?
A Republican with a sense of humor...are you sure Schock is a Republican?
Why is this a story? Anyone who thinks it is has clearly not driven on ice covered roads. Come visit us in MN and see if you remain accident/spin-out free...
This would never happen to a Democrat, THEY ALL HAVE A CAR SERVICES
Democrat dumpster divers pulling the Gay card – Really? How about your spokes "BUDDY" Barney Frank who has been sleeping with the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac CEO for a decade?
When you crybaby Dumpster diving Liberals figure out how to run anything but your mouths maybe I'll listen but then again I have WORK to do
I cannot believe this is considered news. Ridiculous.
Where's the proof he wasn't drunk? Where's the proof he has a valid driver's license? Where's the proof he's a citizen?
You Guys out there all have a proublem right now its not all about being republicans or democrats right now the elections over its all about being United Americans God save our country from our selves.
Hey right wingnuts, this is a true story! That is why you will never find real journalists on Fox news. You need comedy writers to come up with the untrue crap from Fox lies.
So I'm guessing I'm the only one that thought he was hot...haha...
Republican or Democrat, a 28 year old that can make things happen has to have something going for themself. I don't know enough about him, or his constituents. Nonetheless, I do believe in the power of making things happen, and even though just by reading a few things of him, I personaly believe that although he is getting things done, there is still alot this young man has to learn. I advise listening to all and not just some. I am a firm beliver that good has no party.
Not a fan of the guy, but I'm glad he wasn't hurt.
I heard a story that he was a known bad driver.

I am sure he has great medical insurance paid by tax payers. Why can't we have the same plans. Blame the republicans!!!
You can. It's called BCBS. Reps pay for it just like everyone else. It comes out of their pay check just like everyone else. It just so happens that his company is the US gov. It is still money that he earned and he chose to use his money to buy health insurance.
You want health insurance? Get a job and buy it yourself.
only a republican is tough enough to walk away from that, and democrats use drivers who don't wear seatbelts. ain't that right corzine.
NEWS ITEM--Los Angeles, CA-CNN Producer Alexander Maniac will be doing hard core journalism. His next assignment is reporting on the many colors of paper used in news conferences, and the correlation to CNN ratings.......
I am glad you were not hurt...but that was cruel to tap on Tiger...leave the man alone and let him find his way in this rude world. Tiger give it to Jesus, he'll help you.
Fox will say it was Obamas fault.
Mr. Playboy plays bumper cars on the ice en route to yet another social event. Taxpayer dollars at work.
And why is this even on the polical ticker? not even bothering reading...get some news
Sounds to me like he hit his head, no texting while driving would protect your constituents.
He will recover from this incident professionally, but recovering spiritually depends on his faith. Only if he decides to worship the Flying Spaghetti Monster will he get the devensive driving skills he needs. Christianity lacks the ability to steer out of a skid.
Now this is what I call news. I was worried about the wars, economy, etc. Fiddle faddle. Trite. This is news.
A non-injury fender-bender involving a first term congressman who happens to be attractive.
CNN: "We Just Need to Be More Like TMZ"
He must be a Republican, because if he were a democrat, he would have been liquored up, with some babe, and ended up in a river. Oh, and then not report it until the next day.
