Solis responds to jobs numbers

(CNN) - Labor Secretary Hilda Solis responded to CNN on the latest jobs report Monday showing the economy shed 85,000 jobs in December"

"If you compare the job loss from last year at this time we've actually been able to see that contraction in the last four months. We've seen that happen. But of course that's not good enough. The president and I remain very committed every single day to see that we put and add jobs back, and today we'll be talking about more incentives to provide tax credits for small businesses."

Solis also promoted so-called "green jobs."

"We also see where people want to have a career ladder in perhaps the energy efficiency arena. So they may start out as someone who's an electrician and end up later on being the owner of a small business that actually helps to install solar panels. So we're trying to provide those incentives working with community colleges, local government, private partnerships with businesses, and really getting a handle at the local level so it comes from the bottom up."

After a trillion dollard poured in to the economy to save jobs I would hope that we are beginning to see a contraction idiot. Your boss is a liar and he and the rest of the Obama team lie and continue to lie while wasting trillions of dollars on a left wing agenda that throws us back to 1968. Inept, inexperienced, corrupt lying administration. Obama LIED and continues to LIE.

They (dems ) can twist the numbers all they want-less Americans have jobs since they took over the economy in 2006........Now Obama and Gore are trying to kill more jobs promoting their "global warming" trash......The failure at Copenhagen should convince Americans that these 2 are "blowing cold air in the wind". Please, no more millions for Gore and GE at our expense. Can't even see the stoplights in Wisconsin because of the LED lights! How many lives will that cost? Not to mention healthcare dollars for smashed up vivtims........

The job market and unemployment number suck and the GOP is doing nothing but obstructing attempts to turn it around.

    What did you expect?

If you compare the job loss from last year....it's still terrible. You will never hear them compare anything to 2004-5 when unemployment was 4-5%.....wouldn't want to invoke Bush on that, would they?

Again with the green jobs. You can't "wish" for an entire new industry. The free market will create the industry if consumers want it.

If Obama would stop trying to manipulate the market to match his liberal agenda, we might be able to get the economy going again.

You might want to quit spending billions on pay-to-play politics as well….that will never stimulate anything other than a conservative takeover of Congress in 2010.

What a lame attempt to spin this by Solis. There better not be the massive amount of job losses as last year, eventually businesses have to be reduced to bare minimum. Waiting for Obama to declare his stimulus bill worked................clueless bunch of morons, hope we can survive another 3 years of the Destruction party, destroying America. Anyone else in office, even Hillary, and this recession would be turning around by now.

A lot of "Cleanup" work to do on our economy. I wish it could be fix quickly as some seem to expect in 6 months from Obama after 8 years of being run into the ground and leading to Collapse. But the right moves are being made for future growth and rebuilding

Can't wait to hear Bill O'reilly retract his praise of Obama on jobs........Obama is clueless to jobs, he never had a real one in his entire life, how can we expect him to know anything about us little working people and small businesses?

Hows about asking the Corporatocracy to bring our jobs back to the U.S. How about making something in America if you are so Patriotic? How about stop avoiding talking about the Big Elephant living for free off the Commons that we pay for? How about just saying "NO" to WARSn of Profit? How about putting tariffs in place after we start making stuff again to protect the industries sold off to the highest bidders? How about telling the truth and stopping the fabrication of elaborate deceptions that confuse the easily lead groupies of the Unknowing masses? Finally, how about dismantling or reforming capitalism's negative aspect that we've been forced to endure for these many years? Thanks for considering my ideas at the bottom of the Internet bucket! Oh, Obama: I'd really like to be a Main Street Rep. to the U.N. I think I could handle this peace negotiation thing for you! Thanks
