Cheney daughter to Dem: 'Please don't endorse me'

'Liz, are you looking for a job?,' Democratic strategist Donna Brazile teased Sunday.
'Liz, are you looking for a job?,' Democratic strategist Donna Brazile teased Sunday.

Washington (CNN) – Outspoken Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele may be able to rest easy. Liz Cheney, daughter of former Vice President and an often outspoken conservative in her own right, said Sunday that she did not want to be endorsed for a bid to be the next RNC chair and Cheney defended Steele amid renewed concerns about his stewardship of the GOP's national committee.

"Liz, are you looking for a job?," Democratic strategist Donna Brazile teased Sunday when the two women were asked about Steele Sunday on CNN's State of the Union.

"Thanks," Cheney responded, "Donna, please don't endorse me for that."

"Go head, girl. Go head. Go head, girl. Go head." Brazile, a member of the Democratic National Committee, joked as she playfully nudged Cheney who was sitting right next to Brazile.

On a more serious note, Cheney, who served in George W. Bush's State Department and is now chair of KeepAmericaSafe.com, said Sunday that recent concerns expressed about Steele from within Republican ranks would ultimately end up mattering very little as the November midterm elections approach.

"I think he's making a lot of really important points," Cheney told CNN Chief National Correspondent John King about Steele.

"For voters out there sitting around their kitchen tables, they could care about these debates going on in Washington – who's running the Republican Party and who's not," Cheney said. "They want to know who's going to make sure that they've got jobs, who's going to cut taxes, who's going to keep the country safe. And I think those are the issues that will ultimately decide the outcome of these races."

In a number of media appearances intended to promote his new book in the last week, Steele stoked concern among some GOP Capitol Hill staffers, some RNC members and some Republican strategists who are worried Steele's criticism of past Republican missteps might be overshadowing positive news for the GOP as the party tries to build momentum heading into November.

Liz Cheney is being given an opportunity to lead the Republicans then she should take it. Steele has failed to bring his party together and with the looming threat of the Tea Party movement. The Republican party is about to split into two with a majority of conservatives switching allegiance and loyalty to the Tea Party. It would be wise for Liz to take over as the party chair and salvage whats left of her party before it's too late. Opportunity only knocks once.

If any conservative is running for office, THE LAST people they would want to be endorsed by are the likes of Donna Brazile!

Radical left-wingers will ultimately cause the certain implosion of the Democrat Party! Liberal ideology will begin it's death this year and the damage it has caused our Country will be long-remembered! That's a promise!!!

Please don't invite Liz Cheney to participate on CNN programs. She offers only the same old Cheney line. Always preceeds any input with negative comments about the administration and offers no, and I mean zero, meaningful directions or solutions.

Liz Cheney opens her mouth and a sewage of vile attacks against our President flows out. Remember when their lot were shouting"unpatriotic" to anyone opposing Bush's Iraq war.
Well, hypocrisy rules the Republican party. Now, who is 'Unpatriotic"????

I don't think that Liz has to worry. Her request is like my pleading with Jennifer Aniston to quit sexually harassing me, and I'm over seventy.
    IT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN!

Why dosen't Liz Cheney join Palin in Alaska and go moose hunting. Maybe both will get lost and we will never again have to hear about them.

Oh, wow !! Her credentials are that she served in George W. Bush's State Department. With Condoleezza Rice? Then was she in cahoots with the Bush administration when they decided to ignore the daily brief that said bin Laden was determined to strike America using airplanes?? WOW !!! that really increases my confidence in her. Perhaps she should forget Michael Steele's job, she should run for President !!!

So Cheney is in charge of KeepAmericaSafe. When was the last time that a Cheney kept America safe? It certainly wasn't in September of 2001, or any time since then.

Would ANYBODY endorse somebody whose last name is "Hitler"? That is EXACTLY the way I feel about the name "Cheney".

I know he is your Dad, but good points? Does he even have a memory? If not, he can read, about what he and "W" actually did and did not do.

    Oh Yes, Halliburton did well.

It is laughable that Liz Cheney is chair for Keep America Safe when her father, whom she agrees with is a war criminal for invading and occupying Iraq. Unbeleivable that any one person would give her the time of day. Are we too take Osama Bin Ladens childrens advise on how to run the country as well ? What an embarrasing person.

Liz Cheney is a formidable young woman, bright, modern in her conservative thinking, and blessed with looks and personality that suggest our being some watcher of the skies at the sighting of a new Republican star.
Maybe we can lose a girder of Steele and gain a new bouquet of Cheney charm.

What a joke! Liz Cheney is the chair of...A website!?!?!
That is the most ridiculous thing I've seen this year.
For about Ten Bucks you can get a website name and for about 6-10 bucks you can get free hosting. get some ideologue to build your base look and type away for free.
So, who cares if Liz "Dicks Deferment Baby" Cheney says anything about national security, she never served, her father never served, but they hawk and hawk. Get over it folks. These jerks at CNN and ABC need to quit inviting this fool on the air.

Why is it that we didn't hear anything from Liz or her Daddy during the past eight years and now there isn't a day goes by that we have to hear their comments? Let them go on with their lives while the new President and Congress have to straighten out their messes.
