Palin calls book claims 'BS'

Palin is refuting a new political book's claims.
Palin is refuting a new political book's claims.

(CNN) - Sarah Palin is slamming a new book about the 2008 presidential campaign that largely portrays the then-vice presidential candidate as wholly unprepared for the national stage and poorly versed in a range of pressing issues.

"These reporters were not any part of what I was doing there as the VP candidate," Palin said on Fox News Tuesday, her first appearance on the network as a paid contributor. "I don't know who they are. I haven't met these guys."

The book – "Game Change," written by political reporters Mark Halperin and John Heilemann - alleges McCain aides quickly grew troubled with Palin's lack of understanding on key issues, including the job of the Federal Reserve, the difference between North and South Korea, and the purpose of the war in Afghanistan.

"It's a bunch of BS from [McCain campaign manager Steve] Schmidt and those guys," Palin said. "It's pretty made up."

But the former Alaska governor did confirm one of the book's allegations: not knowing exactly who was behind the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and falsely believing former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein played a role.

"I did talk a lot to Steve Schmidt about the history of the war….could there have been any connection to Saddam [Hussein]," she said. "So I admit that I asked questions about it."

Who can blame Palin for thinking Saddam Hussein had something to do with 9/11- that is exactly what Bush and Cheney said to justify the Iraq War. Although they claimed later they did not say this, due to this remarkable invention called video, it is clear they did lie about Iraq's involvement in 9/11. I am not a Palin supporter by any means but to criticize her on that subject is pretty silly.

I am going to make an input only this time –because of the use of "BS" by her. Surely, she has a better word to apply than "BS", if it means what I think it means.

The only "BS" is Sarah herself.

Will there ever come a time when we won't have to be informed about this silly, selfish woman's every move?

She has been a failure at everything she's attempted in her life. She has spent the last year cashing in on her fleeting fame.

    Who cares? Seriously: who cares?

She asked if there COULD be a connection. She never said she believed there was a connection. There is a big difference.

  8. Democrats ruin everything

Sarah Palin is so much smarter than our current idiot-in-chief, Obama. The Communist press knows this. That is why they (and yes, CNN) constantly attack her to try to diminish her.

The people see through this cynical attempt to use Saul Alinsky's methods to marginalize her.

People understand that Democrats ARE NOT that smart.

Everyone knew that she did`nt have a clue. Why is that so hard for her to ascertain? Why do you think that the American people were terrified to think that she could possibly be the vice pres.and horried to know she could have been the pres. She really needs to go to a real college or university and get some formal training. She is no match for Hillary or anyone else.

right. The book by the two political reporters is false and your book by a ghost writer is fact.

Yeah, we all believe that. Palin is not only the saddest example of the troubles we are as a nation, but she is proved a bigger moron every single day. I didn't think that was possible. Her selfishness and greed is as boundless as her stupidity.

What else is new about the Sara Pain?
    Talk about BS.
Why do we continue to see this zero in the public eye?
Nothing plus nothing still equals nothing which pretty much sums up Sara Pain.

More dribble from this incompetant woman. Why can 't people see she is a narsasistic, uneducated, self made politician that makes up big stories. She takes it straight out of the POLITICAL playbook - Say it often enough and they will believe it. Sarah keeps trying to convince us she is something she is not. People are like sheep and they follow this garbage like birds following bird seed. We need strong leadership in this country and not a loud, screaming, nasty, uneducated woman politician that will further the divide in this country. Just because she's a woman doesn't advance the cause for woman – she only makes us look stupid.

I followed the GOP primaries and watched the debates. That woman (Palin) didn't know jack about anything other than what's going on in Wasilla or Juneau. She had international experience because she could see Russia from Alaska (wink) – what a joke. And we were suppose to take her seriously as a VP nominee? John McCain really screwed up by picking her.

Palin is not stupid, just ignorant, an ordinary shortcoming for most mortals, but fatal for aspiring vice-Presidents. She simply hasn't been exposed to what she needs to know, or worse yet, believes what she hears, e.g. what everyone "knew" following 9/11, that Saddam was the culprit. Truth is, Saddam had nothing to do with it, but when facts don't matter, and you just want to hit somebody, Saddam was handy.
I think Palin's ignorance is no worse than most people her age, but I suspect she really doesn't know North from South Korea, let alone the history behind the Korean War. If she's like most people her age, she couldn't tell you whether WWI or WWII came first, let alone why either was fought and what implications that might have for our time.
For an ordinary person, that might be ok, but for a potential president, that's pitiful.

How the heck can she call what is in the book...BS ??? She was more ill-equipped for the campaign, then Joe the Plumber. Nothing that came out of her mouth made sense, she sounded like an uneducated hockey mom, certainly not like a Governor or VP candidate.

And...before you crucify me...I'm not saying all Hockey Mom's are uneducated – I'm saying she knew more about hockey – then civics, history or geography. And I don't think she would be a good Hockey coach either.

Then there is her holier then now attitude. My God...who is she to cast judgment on anyone – or – think she has the right to tell other people how to live.

In 2008, she still wasn't sure if Saddam was involved in 9/11? I think even Fox and Cheney had given up that fairytale by then. I'd feel better if she was confused about North and South Korea.

Poor reporting CNN... The claim was never that Palin didn't know the difference between North & South Korea, as O'Reilly erroneously questioned her on, it was that she didn't know WHY there was a North & South.

I imagine Palin is one those christians who feels she can lie about anything because she KNOWS God wants her to make millions. After all, acccording to her, it was God's will that she was chosen as McCain's VP. Sick!
