Palin calls book claims 'BS'

Palin is refuting a new political book's claims.
Palin is refuting a new political book's claims.

(CNN) - Sarah Palin is slamming a new book about the 2008 presidential campaign that largely portrays the then-vice presidential candidate as wholly unprepared for the national stage and poorly versed in a range of pressing issues.

"These reporters were not any part of what I was doing there as the VP candidate," Palin said on Fox News Tuesday, her first appearance on the network as a paid contributor. "I don't know who they are. I haven't met these guys."

The book – "Game Change," written by political reporters Mark Halperin and John Heilemann - alleges McCain aides quickly grew troubled with Palin's lack of understanding on key issues, including the job of the Federal Reserve, the difference between North and South Korea, and the purpose of the war in Afghanistan.

"It's a bunch of BS from [McCain campaign manager Steve] Schmidt and those guys," Palin said. "It's pretty made up."

But the former Alaska governor did confirm one of the book's allegations: not knowing exactly who was behind the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and falsely believing former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein played a role.

"I did talk a lot to Steve Schmidt about the history of the war….could there have been any connection to Saddam [Hussein]," she said. "So I admit that I asked questions about it."

SARAH PALIN is plain STUPID and uniformed. I wonder how she managed to once become a journalist because being informed is one of the most important requirments to be a journalist; effective or not.

Come on Cnn, she didn't confirm it she said she knew who was behind the attack, but her and steve did talk about the war and how maybe Saddam Hussein could have some connection with Al Qaeda. People may not like Sarah but when your reporting on her at least report the truth.

So let's see... she will CONFIRM that in 2008 she still thought Saddam was behind 9/11. I don't know if I want her to run, to see the mockery that will be made of her, or not run, just in the even that every other candidate somehow has to drop out of the race and she runs unopposed. Even that unlikely possibility has me scared.

Ahh, the victim palin (who has no morality or sense of reality) complains when her former handlers speak. Putting her on Fox may actually shorten her political life significantlty.

The sounds you hear is the heavy breathing of Pat Buchanan and the huge bell tolling the end of Sarah's run for president in 2012. There goes all those "I'm a birther and deather, too" bumper stickers that were going to propel her to the white house.

Asked questions about connection between 9/11 and Saddam? That's how the "big lie" works –you're aiming for the underread, disinterested majority who will bay the loudest for blood. Bring up anything about blowback (the CIA and Pakistan's ISI creating al-Qaeda in the first place to stymie the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan) and you're un-American, a coward, a sissy. America can't outgrow the high school football pep rally mentality. And 'hockey mom-pit bull" is a cheerleader: she's right, the only difference between the two is lipstick - otherwise they're both aggressively brainless, amorally instinctive, and vicious.

it seems to me that this is the Republican Destruction Machine at its best.
Discount Sarah Palin as completely as possible so there would be no way she would consider a run in 2012 because that would mean a Democratic win for sure.

dont get me wrong – I am not a fan of Ms.Palin – I am an Obama Democrat – but there could be no other reason for the Republicans to attack Ms Palin except to marginalize her so she will move out of the way for whichever Republican they plan to support in 2012
Go ahead Republicans – hit us with your best shot – we are still going to win this year and in 2012

I'm giddy about watching Palin in real time on Fox "News" : D Although Palin does possess considerable charm and presence, her ability to think on her feet is decidedly inadequate, largely because she does not have the goods to back it up. There is a good reason why the McCain campaign was forced to silence her.

God she's stupid. I wish we could just have her on a 24/7 mic broadcast on the internet. She'd end up a nobody within 3 weeks, maybe quicker. Instead, the "news" media carefully selects the soundbites specifically to keep her in the spotlight because she's a lodestone for controversy. What a service you do us, CNN et al.

Hmmm! According to Palin, anything negative that is written about Sarah Palin is BS but anything negative written about most anyone else is, without question, the absolute truth.

I find Palin's reaction to the statements made in the book extraordinary! Even casual observers on this side of the globe, who followed the elections in the US last year, cringed at her shocking lack of knowledge and grasp of important world issues. It was clear to all that McCain had made a huge mistake in choosing her as running mate. He might still have had a chance against Obama with a good partner. Palin was clearly not of the required caliber.

    Still is not, it seems...
