Sources: Obama advisers believe Coakley will lose

Washington (CNN) - Multiple advisers to President Obama have privately told party officials that they believe Democrat Martha Coakley is going to lose Tuesday’s special election to fill the Massachusetts Senate seat held by the late Ted Kennedy for more than 40 years, several Democratic sources told CNN Sunday.

The sources added that the advisers are still hopeful that Obama's visit to Massachusetts on Sunday - coupled with a late push by Democratic activists - could help Coakley pull out a narrow victory in an increasingly tight race against Republican state Sen. Scott Brown.

However, the presidential advisers have grown increasingly pessimistic in the last three days about Coakley's chances after a series of missteps by the candidate, sources said.

But White House spokesman Bill Burton told CNN: "The President is in Massachusetts today because he believes Martha Coakley is the right person for the job and indeed will be the next senator from Massachusetts."

The far left still refuses to believe the country doesn't support them. We don't like your agenda. You will lose here and everywhere else but in California. Those morons keep sending Pelosi, Boxer, and the like back to Washington. Send all nuts to the utopia of Calfornia. Leave the rest of us alone

So... the White House is sending the message out " Don't blame Obama for this lost cause." Sorry. The fact this isn't a runaway in the bluest state in the union is BECAUSE of Obama and his policies. Coakly is a marginally worse candidate than Kerry but the machine puts these people up anyway and expects Democrats to vote them in. Not this time. The people have spoken and every member of Congress who keeps voting with Obama,Pelosi and Reid is in danger of the same voter disgust in 10 short months. How appropriate the "Tea Party" sends a message to this overbearing, over reaching, arrogant,, tax obsessed goverment from the far reaches of the state right down to Boston Harbor!

Obama advisors are ignorant and irresponsible. They believed the Virginia Democratic nominee was going to lose and said so before election day.
They better start realizing that this is happening because of no leadership from the White House. This would not be happening with that lady in the White House.

The good people of Massachusetts stand at the ready to change American history on tuesday – to reject tyranny for a second time in our nation's history, and free themselves and their fellow countrymen and women from the yoke of oppressive, intrusive, and unrepresentative government.

    Godspeed, Scott Brown!

Win or lose, Brown has thrown a scare into the Democratic machine in Mass. and it truly is the people's seat rather than Teddy's.

Bad move, Mr. President. Coakley is a train wreck, and you've just jumped into the locomotive. So, since you support this criminal who allows molestation of 2-tear olds, we can add baby molestation to the list of things you support.

I hope Brown wins as Coakley is an elitist socialist/ liberal who does NOT care about the people. "It's not Kennedy's seat, it's not the Democrats seat, it the PEOPLE's seat" GO SCOTT BROWN!

Obama's tax and spend policy is crippling America and the corrupted special deals health care bill is not about health or care but about taking over a 6th of the US economy. It's about socialist big government control, adding more bureaucracy to health care doesn't give better care but government inefficiency and soaring costs for the "real" people of America-the tax payers!
