Obama appears in new ad for Coakley

President Obama appears in a new ad for Martha Coakley released Monday.
President Obama appears in a new ad for Martha Coakley released Monday.

(CNN) - President Barack Obama appears in a new campaign commercial for fellow Democrat Martha Coakley, the party's candidate in Tuesday's special election for the late Sen. Ted Kennedy's seat.

The ad began running on television in Massachusetts Monday, one day after the president was the main attraction at a rally for Coakley Sunday in Boston.

The commercial uses portions of Obama's speech from the Sunday Coakley campaign event.
"Martha knows the struggles Massachusetts working families face because she's lived those struggles. She's fought for the people of Massachusetts every single day," says the president in the ad. "As attorney general she took on Wall Street and recovered millions for Massachusetts taxpayers. She went after big insurance companies, took on predatory lenders. That's what Martha Coakley's all about. Every vote matters. Every voice matters. We need you on Tuesday."

Coakley, the Massachusetts attorney general general, is deadlocked with Republican state senator Scott Brown, according to recent polls in Massachusetts.

Someone from Canada blogged that "...Americans are the dumbest people.." I tend to agree. We have absolutely NO RECALL. We quickly forget who screwed us and WHY, and are ruled and guided by fear, lies, and the almighty dollar. Let anyone try to step up and fight any of these and we'll promptly crucify them. It is MY fervent prayer that if Brown wins MA the Democrats will work triple time to get this INITIAL healthcare reform passed so that we might have a chance down the line to tweak it to near-perfection. The alternative is too gruesome to consider: NO REFORM AT ALL.

No one is ramming anything down your throat. There were PLENTY of opportunities for ALL to participate. You certainly had enough Tea rallies to drown China. Rethugs were asked for their input, and they had none but objections. It makes me puke to hear all this "country first" crap spoken by many who could'nt give a flying fig about our country. Fess up and tell the truth, it's Party first for you folks, as it has always been, and if you can't have the Presidency and the People's House then you'll tar and feather anything that comes out of them.

To the dimwit who said Brown opposes contraceptives for raped women-you need to actually find out some facts before you spew that party-line crap. What Brown "actually" did, as opposed to what they want you to "think" he did- was to sponsor legislation that exempted certain religiously-affiliated hospitals, such as Catholic hospitals, to not be compelled by the government to participate in activities which are opposed to their religious beliefs, such as perform abortions or to supply contraceptives. Those things are against their religious beliefs. He did not "deny contraceptives to rape victims. That's Coakley-camp crap. Please, if you are going to sound off about this stuff, at least find out the truth rather than just spout a party-line. Do I support everything Brown says? NO. Do I think the arguments and dialogue should be truth-based? YES.

Here is something that people are missing. Mass voters are voting against Coakley and the deaf politicians – not necessarily for Brown.

In 2008 the voters came out against the status quo of politicians that fail to represent the people. Obama and the dems did a great job telling the people what they wanted to hear and in feeding into popular discontent over a government that doesn't care about the people.

Well, sadly Reid, Pelosi, and for whatever reason Obama, have simply replaced the tone deaf right with a tone deaf left. No one in Washington is listening. For the 20-30% of the die hard left out there you better wake-up. There is a movement in america against the deafness of our government. It is the peoples country – not one parties country.

I will also say this. The recent races are less a vote for Repubicans than a vote against the continued establishment. A win for Brown tomorrow is not a vote for 8 more years of Bush and Republicans it is a vote to stop the corruption and madness of the left.

Both parties need to wake up and realize we are not voting for either party but against the continued corruption and failure to represent the will of the people. If a viable 3rd party existed both parties would be out of office.

The current backlash against the right in 2008 and left in 2010 is about the american spirit and defiance against tyrannical deaf government – it is tearing this country apart.

I grew up in Massachusetts and it's a pretty liberal state. I'd give Brown about a 40% chance of winning, he'd have to carry areas east of Worcester to actually win ... and I really don't see that happening.

How can anyone have such short memories ? Bush/Cheney started this war with lies to the American people and the World and filled their pockets with oil for 8 long years driving this country in the ditch and you expect Obama to straighten out 8 (eight) years in one (1) year .
Have you forgottin the 8 (eight) years of Bush/Cheney?

Is your memory that short and fogged over?

It would be a shame if MA goes with the Tea Bagger. Rush, Glenn, and the other liars and haters from Fox will take over the inept republican party.

Obama is spending your children and grandchildrens future on nothing! NOTHING!

I don't see how you people can even look your children in the eye.

    Dear "ObamasRecordDeficit",

It is actually "used" car salesman, not "use" car salesman, you moron!
It is people like you, uneducated, who do not know how to read, but can listen to Rush and O'Reilly, and believe everything they hear.

Read a book, a newspaper, and actually get the facts, huh?
At the same time, you may learn how to spell. Same thing for "DA".
It is "guaranteed" not guranteed, you idiot!

I know people who have actually DIED because they did not have health insurance or could not get the quality of care they needed in time. Of course, you morons don't ever think about the poor. You just want to listen to your redneck radio stations and FOX television.

GET THE FACTS!! We are the richest country in the world. The money to fund the health insurance will not come out of your pockets, you clowns, unless you make over $200,000 a year. And if you do, and still don't believe in the plan, then God help you. You are selfish, heartless and uninformed!

How in the world can anyone of sound mind make a statement such as "rob", "we have made too much progress over the past year." This Country is falling quickly under the Democrats and that includes Obama.

Unfortunately reading the notes put by some people surprised me how many fascists are around. They ignore the fact that the deficit was proposed and was started by their beloved 'George the Da..b" and Paulson. They forgot that the intention of the stimulus was to make their live better and it will get there. This clowns that call Obama Marxist do they know what they are talking about? Did they ever read Das Capital? If not how the hell do they know what they are talking about. Sure they think they know "That is the health insurance companies money. These Judas sold themselfs.

Do you have to be so ignorant to be republican or to drink tea?

Obama is booking a ticket on the Titanic – AFTER it hit the iceberg!

Does he really want to be associated with another losing candidate – and an incredibly dumb one at that? Martha Coakley is not fit to be a United States Senator. Anyone who thinks so only needs to study the Fells Acres Day Care case. She made a mockery of justice.

As a Canadian observing what is happening in Massachusetts..I really cant believe how fickle the American voter is. My God you voted in for a second term a man who lied to get you at war in Iraq then he spent 8 years destroying your economy and your goodwill and reputation around the world..and agreed to torture and God knows what else we haven't heard about yet. Then you have the sense to vote in a man of intelligence and who I believe truly cares about the average American. You give him just one year to try and repair what has gone before him! It seems that if you don't get instant gratification you turn and run and vote for the other guy just to send a message?? What kind of message is this really. My God you guys give up quickly and you will end up with no improved health care at all. I dont understand it..maybe someone can explain it to us up here?!

This is the woman who basically said that doctors/nurses have no right to conscientiously object to certain medical procedures – she says they should not be in the medical field if they don't want to terminate the life of a child or any number of morally questionable practices. Obama needs politicians like her to vote for his bill. Hmmm, makes you wonder even more what's in that bill...

The corporate scumbags are flooding the airwaves in that state and supporting the death assurance companies, they want their "monopoly" to continue.

You are absolutely correct. I wonder why the Democrats are so against breaking up the monopoly structure they have created for the market. You know anit-trust laws, not competing over state lines ext... You know pretty much eliminating the competition and expecting prices to come down, I don’t understand it either.
