Obama appears in new ad for Coakley

President Obama appears in a new ad for Martha Coakley released Monday.
President Obama appears in a new ad for Martha Coakley released Monday.

(CNN) - President Barack Obama appears in a new campaign commercial for fellow Democrat Martha Coakley, the party's candidate in Tuesday's special election for the late Sen. Ted Kennedy's seat.

The ad began running on television in Massachusetts Monday, one day after the president was the main attraction at a rally for Coakley Sunday in Boston.

The commercial uses portions of Obama's speech from the Sunday Coakley campaign event.
"Martha knows the struggles Massachusetts working families face because she's lived those struggles. She's fought for the people of Massachusetts every single day," says the president in the ad. "As attorney general she took on Wall Street and recovered millions for Massachusetts taxpayers. She went after big insurance companies, took on predatory lenders. That's what Martha Coakley's all about. Every vote matters. Every voice matters. We need you on Tuesday."

Coakley, the Massachusetts attorney general general, is deadlocked with Republican state senator Scott Brown, according to recent polls in Massachusetts.

What I see here is a bunch of elitist democrats who are running for cover. America is sick and tired of getting crap shoved down our throat.
Get out and vote so You have a voice when they start taking more of your freedoms away.

Dutch the Great, are you kdding me? Maybe people who are one-issue voters should be required to take a Civics class every election cycle. And to think you would cancel out a vote from someone who really thinks and isn't yet another rubber stamp for the State Democratic Party (or Republican Party, depending on the case). Why not just let John Walsh pull the lever for you, and you can stay home and watch repeat episodes of Sponge Bob Square Pants?

Please tell us one thing the Rebuplicans have done right over the last 9 years. One can all wonder where we would be if Bush left the country in 1/2 of the shape Clinton left it for him.

If Sarah Palin would call Levin the daughters former boy friend a porn star for posing on play girl magazine.
I think it is fair game to state that Sarah palin's endorsed candidate, Scott Brown who posed nude in a cosmo magazine is a porn-star.
The senate has no place for him. Dems should GOTV tomorrow .

I agree with Rob...the Republican mentality is "self" and "greed" and the Democratic way of thinking is "share" "give" and help one another! Isn't that what God wants from all of us?

"Martha knows the struggles Massachusetts working families face..."

You mean the struggle to be able to afford to buy groceries and pay rent when 40% of your income goes to paying taxes?

The struggle to pay for groceries at outrageously inflated prices because half of what you pay goes to taxes on the businesses that produce, transport, and sell those groceries.

The struggle to find a job when business aren't hiring because they can't afford to because of the outrageous taxes they're being forced to pay?

The Democrats are the party of taxes, taxes, and more taxes, and it's never to the benefit of "working families" to vote for more taxes–no matter who a tax is aimed at, "the rich," "businesses," or anyone else, the tax is ultimately paid by people, by "working families."

Go Massachusetts! Please vote Brown to help save us from this rushed, flawed health care plan and from the continued squandering of our tax dollars.

oH STOP BLAMING OBAMA for problems we have.... YOU ALL ARE THE REASONS WHY HE HAS NO SLEEP JUST TO KEEP US AFLOAT.

YOU ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MESS! YOU ALL GAVE THE ELEPHANTS CONTROLLED FOR THE PAST 8 YEARS....

  15. WantHealthCareReform

Health care reform is required. This reform is trying to taking on a lot of special interests (Insurance Industry, Pharmaceutical Industry, Hospitals, Doctors) obviously most of them have to give up something to really reform health care and no wonder there is so much opposition to this.

If Martha is to loose, then it would such an irony that it's the very seat of the person who championed for health care reform will help kill it.

Obama has had less than a year to fix the worst economic crisis since the depression, has had to deal with two war fronts and has had to fight the republicans on almost every thing he wants to do. I think he deserves our support for at least the 4 years he has been elected for, and he deserves the 60th vote for at least until 2010 mid term.

Nothing will get done without the 60th vote in the current political environment. Dems and independent voters go out and vote for Martha.

If the people of Massachusetts are stupid enough to fall for the same old Republican garbage again, then they get what they deserve. Unfortunately, the rest of us will pay for it, too.
How insane do you have to be to keep falling for the same line over and over? OK, for the last time, here is the truth–the Republicans only talk about fiscal responsibility, they don't practice it. They think they should be rich and you should be poor, and thankful that they let you exist. And, they think they should be able to tell you how to live your life according to the rules of their god, who apparently doesn't tell them they need to share, be good citizens, and love others as themselves. NO thanks!

Some of the comments on this story are incredibly rude and even worse, semiliterate. It's a freedom and grace of the United States that if you disagree with the policies of our sitting President, you are free to speak your mind, no-matter how critical or harsh. However, the rude and personal comments are beyond comprehension. If you have a gripe, then address the issue. If you believe you have an answer to any of the critical issues that we face in the United States today, then by all means, please advise how things can be made better. Rather than the name calling, why not be specific in your issues and even more specific in the remedy. The generalizations here are fascinating and naive. Vote your heart, and then live by your selection. But dispense with the name calling you a#$ h@$les!

Do you think we could have created jobs with the money spent by Obama to fly to Mass to try and save Coakley, or to get the olympics, or save the earth from global warming. He is spending so much money to save his image, why not spend it on creating jobs. When are these people going to see through his smoke screen and put this country on the right track. Open your eyes people.

  25. Vote smart: Scott Brown

Obama doesn't even know Coakley. He's just pushing the party line (on the taxpayer dime).

Coakley is dumber than even Barney Frank (MA/D), who personally helped create the whole housing crisis with his horrible oversight of Fanny and Freddie, leading to the economic disaster of today. Can MA screw up this bad again?

    Vote for Scott Brown.
