Obama appears in new ad for Coakley

President Obama appears in a new ad for Martha Coakley released Monday.
President Obama appears in a new ad for Martha Coakley released Monday.

(CNN) - President Barack Obama appears in a new campaign commercial for fellow Democrat Martha Coakley, the party's candidate in Tuesday's special election for the late Sen. Ted Kennedy's seat.

The ad began running on television in Massachusetts Monday, one day after the president was the main attraction at a rally for Coakley Sunday in Boston.

The commercial uses portions of Obama's speech from the Sunday Coakley campaign event.
"Martha knows the struggles Massachusetts working families face because she's lived those struggles. She's fought for the people of Massachusetts every single day," says the president in the ad. "As attorney general she took on Wall Street and recovered millions for Massachusetts taxpayers. She went after big insurance companies, took on predatory lenders. That's what Martha Coakley's all about. Every vote matters. Every voice matters. We need you on Tuesday."

Coakley, the Massachusetts attorney general general, is deadlocked with Republican state senator Scott Brown, according to recent polls in Massachusetts.

I trust a former attorney general over this Tea-Bagger Brown any day of the week. BROWN OPPOSES CONTRACEPTIVES FOR WOMEN WHO HAVE BEEN RAPED!!!

No, he doesn't, Bozo. He wrote legislation which would allow Catholic hospitals to concientiously object to providing contraception while at the same time REQUIRING them to instruct the woman where to obtain them.

Mind your own biusiness in your own state. How's that new Reupblican governor working out for you?

Have you noticed that Obama only cares about him self? Like last year during the mid west floods where more people died and lost their homes than in Katrina, where was BHO? Supporting this unqualified democrat for what , Free health care for union employees.

I guess when she "went after big insurance companies" she made them see the evil of their ways so they all got together to have a fundraiser for her last week to show their appreciation. I guess if the campaign went on another week, the predatory lenders and wall street bankers would have had to hold them too. Maybe the unions could have lent her the money they'll get by being exempted from the health care taxes.

The Democrats do nothing but preach class warfare and the evils of capitalism and the "rich" while silently taking their money and making sweetheart deals with them.

How much did it cost the tax payer this time for OBOZO to go and beg for votes for his legalese on health care. There seems to be no end to his spending of our tax dollars for his benefit.

What progress are you talking about?

-An unbelievable spending bill that was supposed to keep unemployment below 8%?
    -Unemployment AT 10%?
-Iran laughing at Obama as they ignored three different drop dead dates for negotiations?
-North Korea shooting long range missiles the day Obama gave a speech warning them not to?
-Back door negotiations and bribes to Nebraska and the Unions on this farce of a health care bill?
    -The failure to close Guantanamo?
    -An abysmal failure in Copenhagen?
-Making a fool of himself in the officer/professor situation and having to have a "beer summit"?

Really, what has he done? Tensions in the middle east haven't changed. The world view of America hasn't changed. The terrorists are still trying to kill us. But after the bomber failed, he stood aside and let his people (Napolitano) sound as ignorant as Bush when he was telling "Brownie" that he was doing a good job as head of FEMA during Katrina. Obama's "the buck stops here" speech a week later was great for the cameras, but not for us rational thinking americans.

This guy has been an embarrassment and a failure. I voted for him. Oops. Never again.

I mean really, what has he done?

Law and legislation which will have huge impact on the nation over the course of many years should be written, read, reread, and studied by elected officials. Here we have legislation written by who knows who, 'technical writers,' they are the ones who are actually fabricating the real nuts and bolts of this law, unknown lawyers. 2000 pages of it and only they alone have read it since they wrote it. Obama was not proofreading it in Hawaii. The senators themselves, when could they have read it? Lets reject this thing. Lets do a 20 to 40 page bill all can read and understand.

The big push behind Brown is coming from the health care industry, who want to keep the status quo of escalating costs and limiting care.

I hope the good people of Massachusetts do the right thing for themselves and their country by voting in Coakley tomorrow.

After nearly 30 years of disasterous Republican policies, we all know that they only use their power for the betterment of the wealthy and corporations, at the great expense of our nation and its people.

Get out and vote for Coakley!

Count me as a Massachusetts Independent who donated hard earned $$ and spent time working for Obama's election and do actually think he is doing a decent job considering what he inherited. I however am 90% sure I will vote for Scott Brown. If not for him, I will not vote at all. Dear Martha has been an abysmal candidate. In fact, I was told in an email yesterday by a Democrat operative, "Just do like I am going to do...hold your nose and pull the lever!" What a statement! She turned me off by cow towing to the Emily's List crowd stating she would not vote for Healthcare if it didn't contain an abortion option. That's throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Secondly, she took this entire process for granted...sort of like it was "owed" to her...and we were expected to vote for her! Finally, I got sick of this being called the "Kennedy seat". I am one MA voter who never again cast a vote for him after the Chappy incident. If she gets in it will only be by a hair, and only for this one term. Stay tuned this will be interesting.

Why is it that the people in the background of the picture appear better dressed than President Obama. Even the local Chicago alderman knows enough to put on a tie. (Maybe I missed the point where he got so excited about Martha that he had to take it off.)

I am sure the Dems and ACORN will find a way to win. After all they found ballot boxes in car trunks days after the election to help Franken win Minnesota. If Minnesota lets them get a way with it Mass. will too. I believe the republican will get more legal votes but will lose to Democrat because of of same day registrations, early voting, absentee ballots from Mickey Mouse, and more shananigans.

    So keep score here:
    1. Healthcare – disaster
    2. Gitmo – still open. fail
    3. unemployment – 10% (actually 17.5% counting people who gave up and the underemployed) BIG fail
4 Getting Olympics in Chicago – fail
    5. Copenhagen – fail
    6. Transparency – FAIL
    7. Bi-partisanship – FAIL

    Wow! Quite a resume.

Listening to the ranting loonies commenting here it's no wonder why Brown is winning.

The person who hates corporations – who do you work for? Who pays taxes where you live?

To the person who has the abortion issue wrong – read up, he voted for the bill and only wanted to exempt practitioners from being forced to assist in something they find morally repugnant.

To the people who think we've taken a step forward, just what steps would those be?

I think having Obama in her corner will definitely cause her to lose. Of course she hasn't don't anything to help herself.

Pres. Obama, get back to DC and get to work!!!!

STOP CAMPAINING!!! You weren't elected to be CAMPAIGNER IN CHIEF. Try doing something about unemployment and the deficit.

Martha Coakley, the female version of Joe Biden!

Top Ten Martha gaffes this week:

    10) When asked about her foreign policy experience, she said she talks to her sister a lot who lives overseas.

    9) Going to a campaign rally at a senior center (to meet the common folk), then awkwardly turning her back on the hundreds of seniors in the audience to answer questions from reporters, then walking off the stage without giving a speech (she later came back when a senior center rep grabbed her walking out the door)

    8) Saying Catholics and other religious people should not work in hospitals (because their freedom of conscience might interfere with abortion and contraception)

    7) Misspelling "Massachesettes" in a campaign ad

    6) In another ad, (instead of using Wall Street) she uses the 9-11 destroyed Twin Towers in a backdrop with a voice over that talks about corporate greed

    5) Saying (paraphrasing) "Shaking hands with voters in the cold is a bad idea" preferring to meet with union bosses and political party leaders

    4) Going to DC to raise money from lobbyists while her opponent is meeting people in Mass.

    3) Watching her aid elbow a reporter into a fence, having the moment caught on film, and then denying she saw it– priceless

    2) "There are no more terrorists in Afghanistan" (same day three US soldiers are killed by a suicide bomber, all fathers with families)

    1) Curt Schilling is a Yankee's Fan?!!!

This woman is clueless! She is perfect to rubber stamp OBOZO's failed policies!

I love it. The first chance Americans get a chance to tell this corrupt administration and congress, and its in Massachusetts for Kennedy's seat. Brown will win, because unlike the loony lefties, educated people realize us "independents" are smart enough to vote for the person, not the letter in front of their names. A vote for Brow is a vote to kill the special interest paybacks, the bribes to buy votes and push so socialism. If this was such a good bill why would that all be necessary and why would the Dums be convinced Americans will be happy AFTER they jam it thru and then let us in on the details?

I read this posts from President Obama haters and those who supposedly have "turned Republican," and I laugh.

You have the attention span and patience of a gnat. It's going to take a long time to clean up the mess George Bush & Company left for President Obama to clean up.

And BTW, where were you when Bush was irresponsibly cutting taxes for the wealthy during wartime?

Where was your protest when more and more American jobs were lost because those same wealthy were using their money to build factories overseas and lay off workers here in the States?

Where was your protest when Bush dropped the ball in Afghanistan and lied us into war in Iraq?

Where was your protest when Bush ignored the looming health care crisis, because, hey, he and his cronies got theirs and to heck with the rest of us?

If you think a return to all those failed GOP policies is the answer, you're either ignorant or a Republican shill.

The message conveyed in the NJ and VA recent elections should have served sufficent notice that the American people have had enough of the direction and policies of the Obama and his henchmen and henchwomen. Obama has betrayed the American people and underestimated their intelligence. He has lied to us, he is confused in his priorities and has put America on a path to financial failure and our system of democracy toward a road of socialism. He has lied to us that his administration would be one of transparency, he has resorted to bribery, deception and downright thuggery to attempt to enact to enact legislation that the American people do not wantg. And now Obama is willing to sacrifice the Deocratic party for his own selfish agenda. Obama. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!
