Obama appears in new ad for Coakley

President Obama appears in a new ad for Martha Coakley released Monday.
President Obama appears in a new ad for Martha Coakley released Monday.

(CNN) - President Barack Obama appears in a new campaign commercial for fellow Democrat Martha Coakley, the party's candidate in Tuesday's special election for the late Sen. Ted Kennedy's seat.

The ad began running on television in Massachusetts Monday, one day after the president was the main attraction at a rally for Coakley Sunday in Boston.

The commercial uses portions of Obama's speech from the Sunday Coakley campaign event.
"Martha knows the struggles Massachusetts working families face because she's lived those struggles. She's fought for the people of Massachusetts every single day," says the president in the ad. "As attorney general she took on Wall Street and recovered millions for Massachusetts taxpayers. She went after big insurance companies, took on predatory lenders. That's what Martha Coakley's all about. Every vote matters. Every voice matters. We need you on Tuesday."

Coakley, the Massachusetts attorney general general, is deadlocked with Republican state senator Scott Brown, according to recent polls in Massachusetts.

    Let's be clear here -
This is not a democratic or republican thing that is going on in the MA vote tomorrow.
What this is about - is the THUGS, LIARS and the politicians who did not keep their promises in Washington and we are FED up.
What happened to "Real Change You Can Believe In"?
If what we are seeing in the Health Care debacle as "Real Change..." - LACK OF TRANSPARENCY, BACK ROOM (CLOSED) DEALS, PAYOFFS, RUSHING TO PUT A VOTE, ETC. - then I DON'T WANT your "REAL CHANGE". Mr. President, Keep It. You are no better or WORSE than any other President. How about going back to your own ads from late 2008 and maybe follow a few of them? I have yet to see one of those promises you made to the American people. SHAME on you and Pelosi and Ried and Nelson and all those goof balls who vote on party line instead of what the people want. To be fair, Republicans are no better either. It's the political establishment that needs "REAL CHANGE...".

So Obama is still campaigning....he sent Clinton and Bush to Haiti to coordinate US efforts to assist.....while he still campaigns. He obviously can't run anything, or make decisions, he just knows how to spend our taxpayer money and make nice speeches that don't mean much (see his previous ones on Youtube). Now's your chance Massachusetts. To Rob – made too much progress as a nation? Which nation are you referring to? The one that has the multi-trillion dollar taxpayer debt due to a stimulus package that hasn't worked? The abysmal healthcare bill that will help virtually no one but harm 80% of the country that already has insurance? The new "transparent" government that "paysoff" those who vote the Democrat side? Step up Mass. Vote for "change"....the Republican way.

Obama criticizes big banks, Wall Street, insurance industry and drug makers as reasons for America's problems.
Obama has funneled billions of tax dollars to these same banks, Wall Street, made deals with the drug makers and insurance industry in an attempt to pass obamacare.
He refused to allow lower cost drugs to be purchased and shipped into America.
Obamacare provides the insurance with aat least 35 million new customers mandated to purchase policies and the insurance companies are the only provider.
    What are his real thoughts?

Where is the CNN coverage of the fact that the planned Christmas attack and the fact that it was Yemeni based was known back in September? And yet nothing was done to expand the no-fly watch list.

If Bush was president and something like this happened there would be calls for his impeachment but it isn't all that big a deal when Obama completely fails at his primary role as President in protecting the American people.

President wants to tax financial institutions, do not be surprised if you sleep at night and wake up in the morning and see you credit cards, and banking fees increased in the morning. Ultimately we are the one paying for it.

  16. Obama reads his lies, unions thrive, gov't grows, national debt grows, with our freedoms and economic private sector engine taken away from us.

When are the so called moderates of the Democrat party going to realize that Obama's policies are toxic and the healthcare plan is not what WE WANT. Just look at what is happenning in the most liberal of liberal states and they can't even get a Democrat to win in what should be a walk in the park for the Democrats. The American people see what Obama and his Chicago style of politics is all about, and we are sick of it!!!!!

Be very careful here folks.....because a snake is a snake.....and more so snakes from Chicago! Don't believe these so called "leaks" from WH people.....what they want to be able to say above everything else is...."Coakley would have never made it had Obama not showed up on Sunday!" These Chicago snakes will stop at nothing....don't sell them short, this all sounds too easy!

  20. Stop the Nonsense

WHAT? Since when is is OK to call the Presdient of the United States names because you don't agaree with him or his party's philosophy?
You claim to be Americans- act like one.
You have the right to disagree with an opinion, but the name calling has to stop!
What name-calling shows is a lack of maturity. This is something grade school children do.
"southercousin" and "auntbea and Opie" – where's that Southern Charm?" Not a Lemming" – do you personally know Coakley to call her those names? Shame on you!
    Grow up people!
As for those that say he's lied- I suggest you go back and REREAD what Obama campaigned on. We all knew what was coming. Nothing has been proposed that was not mentioned on the campaign trail, including funding and more troops for Afghanastan, which was not popular with his party faithful.

It is ironic that it is the seat of Teddy Kennedy (the longstanding proponent of this ill-advised health care overhaul) that might cause Obamacare to fail. Obama fooled a lot of the people for a good amount of time but many are wising up, fortunately. Don't make this a Dem/Rep thing, though, as many Reps are corrupt, too. Ron Paul is the only honest politician we have.
