Bristol Palin demands child support

(CNN) - Bristol Palin is demanding Levi Johnston start paying up.

According to court documents filed Thursday in Alaska and posted on the Web site TMZ, the 19 year-old daughter of Sarah Palin is demanding the father of her one year-old son pay $1,750 a month in child support payments.

Palin is also seeking back payments beginning from late December 2008, when the child was born.

According to the court filing, Palin says Johnston made "in excess of 105,000 in 2009 through various media interviews and modeling related activities."

Palin also says she has received only "sporadic financial assistance" from Johnston over the last year - $4,400 in total.

Johnston's manager contends Palin has been paid more than $10,000 by Johnston since her son was born, according to TMZ.

Palin's attorney, Thomas Van Flein, said in a statement to CNN: "Bristol has set forth the facts regarding child support in her affidavit filed in court. The law in Alaska is clear: a parent is obligated to support his or her child. It is unfortunate Bristol has to seek court intervention in this regard."

Bristol, it takes two to tango!

Yes, you should get child support, although you are asking for something more like spousal and child support.

You need to get a job like the rest of us moms, honee.

Or let your mom help support you. After all, Mommy didn't teach you how to avoid pregnancy.

From a more experienced and aged mother, I am advising you Bristol not to mess with Levi: just have him arrested for non-payment. Otherwise, the court can interpret your not demanding regular payment heretofore as lack of care for the child. Young women, don't let philanderers get away with it; fix their jackets promptly.

I love the photo of Bristol on this article, and many like it.

Its as if she's about to say, with all the enthusiasm in the world, "Do you want to buy a cookie?"

The beat goes on. What a mess. There are consequences to the choices we make. I made some pretty dumb choices when I was 18 too.

Sounds like Levi's child support payments are directly proportional to his visitation rights.

You want full payments then provide full visitation rights.

Once again CNN slips in to its National Enquirer mode rather than report what a disaster and failure the Obama revenge on the banks and Wall Street will be. Rather than report on the lack of progress on the ethics investigation of Charlie Rangel. I would like to know how the "president of the libertards" latest class warfare plan will affect my 401k. Wouldn't it be nice if we could get truth and real news from other media outlets beside FOX? OK, left wing nuts, feel free to now degrade and demean Bristol Palin, her mother, her father and her baby. It is the liberal way.

No wonder she got rid of Levi, he's a dead beat looking for a hand out off the skirt of the Palins and I dont blame him for taking money for working. I mean if your going to be a model you have to have nice clothes............... wait, he didn't need clothes for the modeling that he did. Great dad, bet he cant wait to show his son what he did for a living.
    Pay you child support loser!

$1750 a month is she crazy? I have a son , 9 yrs old I get $700. She still lives with her parents, and 1750 is just to much. Isen't there a court system that will determine how much she should get? I mean it is for everybody else, or is she just throwing out numers that pleases her? What a joke that whole Family is, really.

Good for her. If it weren't for that baby, Levi would be a no-name. There would be no photo sessions, no interviews, no public appearances. While I am not a Palin fan, I can't condone Levi making a buck by trashing his child's family. You had a hand in making the baby, Levi. Now it's time to man up and pay your fair share for his upbringing.

Be careful what you wish for Bristol. Not too many men will pay child support and NOT be in the child's life. If you want Levi to go away, ask him to give up his parental rights and you can save him lots of $$$$.

My goodness, $1,750.00 a month is twice the size of my mortgage on my beautiful home. I guess she wasn't thinking about how to support a child when the baby was conceived. Teenage girls need a good lesson in the number of "dead beat dads" that exist in this country. Boys and girls also need to sit in the delivery rooms of a few hospitals and watch childbirth in action. For some cultures, a child is more important than a degree and naturally the child always pays the real price in medical neglect, witnessing domestic abuse in their homes, poor role models and a very strong possibility of keeping this cycle going once they themselves become teenagers. Texas holds the record for unwed teenage mothers who are continually subsidized in their endless breeding practices.
