(CNN) - Bristol Palin is demanding Levi Johnston start paying up.
According to court documents filed Thursday in Alaska and posted on the Web site TMZ, the 19 year-old daughter of Sarah Palin is demanding the father of her one year-old son pay $1,750 a month in child support payments.
Palin is also seeking back payments beginning from late December 2008, when the child was born.
According to the court filing, Palin says Johnston made "in excess of 105,000 in 2009 through various media interviews and modeling related activities."
Palin also says she has received only "sporadic financial assistance" from Johnston over the last year - $4,400 in total.
Johnston's manager contends Palin has been paid more than $10,000 by Johnston since her son was born, according to TMZ.
Palin's attorney, Thomas Van Flein, said in a statement to CNN: "Bristol has set forth the facts regarding child support in her affidavit filed in court. The law in Alaska is clear: a parent is obligated to support his or her child. It is unfortunate Bristol has to seek court intervention in this regard."

As if we didn't see this baby daddy drama coming. I'm so sick of the Palins–absolute trailer trash. And I mean that in a derogatory way.
There are decent people who live in a trailer, but Sarah and her folks are not one of them.
If he "mans up" and pays child support, does he get to visit his child, be a part of the kid's life ... or just serve as the stud before and the cash cow now...??
He should be made to pay, at least, $1000.00 a month
in child support especially after making all that money
for speaking engagements. On the other hand,
Bristal needs to get off of her laurels and get
a part-time job at night and hire a babysitter
while the baby is sleeping. Or, she needs to
get enrolled in college or a technical school
to further her education because "Mr. Pretty Boy"
alias "Momma's Boy" is not always going
to be making over $100,000.00 year.
She needs to get real!
He should pay, end of story. I don't care whether you like or dislike the Palin family, Levi has a responsibility to his child.
I get child support that was based on alaska csed guidelines. Child support is a fraction on what the non cust parent makes. I have twins and I get $1850 a month but that is 27% of his pay after taxes, etc. But really is this news worthy??
Why is this news? I just don't get it. Who cares – my ex didn't pay me child support for years. It didn't make the newspapers.
This story makes no sense. There are just too many discrepancies in it. Let's try to get the story straight before launching it on-line!

I've gotta support Levi on this one. Bristol seems like a spoiled little rich girl who certainly doesn't need any financial support – it's quite certain that her mother's wealth will support her for many years to come; up until she lands a cushy government or political-based job (like working for the Republican Party) with her mother's connections. Levi, though perhaps somewhat of a sleaze, seems like a normal, small-town Alaska guy who got caught up in something big, complex, and manipulative. Good for him for getting some $ out of being screwed over by the Palins! If anyone deserves some financial support out of this thing it's definitely NOT the spoiled daughter of a political millionaire!
Levi should get custody of the child and demand that bristol pay HIM child support. If she is incapable of suporting the child he should go ahead and do it.

Who cares? Are you trying to become a tabloid news organization?
What most of you who are stunned about the amount of child support being requested don't realize is that child support is based on a number of factors that differ state to state but is a formula based primarily on income. So if Levi is hauling in 6 figures, then the $1750/month is the TYPICAL level of child support. Those that complain they don't get that much need to find fathers with more income potential I guess. Relax though, as his fame fades, his obligations will likely decrease to a couple hundred. He'll probably be a dead-beat in no time.

So he makes his money bashing the Palin family. But he doesn't want to pay child support. No wonder he is a liberal media darling. He is their ideal human being. He hates the Palins and he's fine with abandoning his child. The only thing that could possibly enhance his image is if the child was on welfare. Then the Obama utopia would be complete.

I do believe Levi does need to pay up and support his son, however, we should be reminding the Palins that he IS the child's father and they need to stop making it difficult for him to be with his own child.
They have a responsibility too – two people tango'ed to make this child, they should BOTH be involved in his upbringing.
Child support is based upon the amount of income the non-custodial parent makes. If he made a large sum, he should provide in relation. My husband pays child support, and in North Dakota, the law also takes into consideration MY income as a spouse! (Now THAT makes sense!)
Both of Levi and Bristol should grow up and deal with their consequences. Instead of whining, complaining and hiding from what is right, both of them should get a job and start taking care of the kid, preferably not in the headlines where the rest of us have the ability to comment.
He is the undisputed father and he should take his responsibilities seriously. No comment on the Palins here, if he owes he should pay.
Let him see the kid then!

Liberal media darling? Give me a break, nobody at my weekly socialist club get-together cares about Levi or the Palin family, and the Palin family has been in the media solely because Sarah Palin wants the attention. She is the one who has been releasing statement after statement to the press.
Why would a family as rich as the Palin's need $1,750 a month from the guy who doesn't have a full-time job? Sure I understand the merits of child support but when you don't NEED that money for child support, why demand it?
