(CNN) - Bristol Palin is demanding Levi Johnston start paying up.
According to court documents filed Thursday in Alaska and posted on the Web site TMZ, the 19 year-old daughter of Sarah Palin is demanding the father of her one year-old son pay $1,750 a month in child support payments.
Palin is also seeking back payments beginning from late December 2008, when the child was born.
According to the court filing, Palin says Johnston made "in excess of 105,000 in 2009 through various media interviews and modeling related activities."
Palin also says she has received only "sporadic financial assistance" from Johnston over the last year - $4,400 in total.
Johnston's manager contends Palin has been paid more than $10,000 by Johnston since her son was born, according to TMZ.
Palin's attorney, Thomas Van Flein, said in a statement to CNN: "Bristol has set forth the facts regarding child support in her affidavit filed in court. The law in Alaska is clear: a parent is obligated to support his or her child. It is unfortunate Bristol has to seek court intervention in this regard."

I'm pretty sure that kid is not going hungry. Quit being a drama queen!!!
Palin's family is rich but still want to sue this guy? Nice people.
Here we go.
I feel sorry for Levi and the baby.
Bristol or more correctly Bristle ought to grow up.
Since "her" son was born??? The word is "THEIR"....their son. Levi Johnston should grow up, act like a father and a role model to THEIR son. Raising children is never easy, but having a knucklehead for a father just makes things harder. Good luck, Bristol. Keep your chin up and your eyes on the prize.
Levi would be getting a good deal! $1,750 a month and NOT have Sarah Palin as his Monster-In-Law!!! Levi got out of that household in the nick of time.
(Though I think the money is a bit high because there's no guarantee Levi will make the same amount of money as he did in 2009. Palins will soon be old news. Unless he starts going on random reality shows?)
SO GLAD PALIN ISN'T IN THE WHITEHOUSE! It'd be Jerry Springer 24/7. (Same goes with John Edwards!)
I'm glad to see that CNN is on this important story and its far-reaching implications for our society, politics and economic system. Outstanding journalism. I smell a Pulitzer! Have a nice day!
And they wanted this in the White House?
I love Obama and his classy family.
Simple enough. He pays whatever the court order stipulates or he's contractually agreed to pay.
Bristol asked for money and Levi "just said NO".
And CNN continues to be the tabloid network. Soon they can bill themselves as "all trailer trash all the time".
CNN, this isn't political news...
Why is this even in the news? This should be a private matter between the two of them.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Reasonable request. However, I'd assert that the assets of Exxon be included in the needs assessment, since the Palins are essentially on their payroll (and now that the Supreme Court has chimed in..they don't even have to deny it anymore!)
"Her" son? The appropriate word is "THEIR". Their son. Levi Johnston needs to grow up, be father and role model for THEIR son. Good luck, Bristol. Raising a child is never easy and having a knucklehead for a father makes it even harder. Keep your chin up and your eyes on the prize. You'll do just fine.
I'm sick to death of both of them, but children need to be supported. Regularly and consistently, by both parents. If she is not working then her contribution to the baby's support will be imputed at minimum wage. In any event, we know what causes pregnancy now.
And this belongs on the Political Ticker because ..........
Bristol has that same clueless look that her mother has.Poor Girl
Ummm.... She just earned $100,000 for an 8-hour photo shoot. Almost his entire salary for the year. Somethings not adding up here...
How is this a political story?
What on earth is sitting atop the dimwits head, a cow flop?
Both these young parents should do the right thing for their baby. Now they have to grow up and share equal responssibily. The father should be involved in the childs life.Work it out!
He made too much money off of this, and some SHOULD go to the child's mother. Or, be put in an untouchable college fund for the baby.
Let's all hope that as another of the Palin family's ugly sagas plays out in the media it has a short run. This does not seem to me to be appropriate material for a national news outlet. Why do I get the feeling, AGAIN, that when I clicked on the CNN link I got People magazine instead. Really guys, find some NEWS!!
seriously, we have all lost it....who cares? why am i commenting ?...we've lost our collective minds....it's over, friends...
Dang – Why can't they print ALL Dead-Beat dads on CNN. You want to know why???? NO ONE CARES ABOUT THIS FAMILY AND CHILD SUPPORT!!!!
I truly believe $10,000 is more like the figure because the family was SILENT on this issue until NOW!! -- MONEY talks and BULL-CRAP walks!!!!
