(CNN) - Bristol Palin is demanding Levi Johnston start paying up.

According to court documents filed Thursday in Alaska and posted on the Web site TMZ, the 19 year-old daughter of Sarah Palin is demanding the father of her one year-old son pay $1,750 a month in child support payments.

Palin is also seeking back payments beginning from late December 2008, when the child was born.

According to the court filing, Palin says Johnston made "in excess of 105,000 in 2009 through various media interviews and modeling related activities."

Palin also says she has received only "sporadic financial assistance" from Johnston over the last year - $4,400 in total.

Johnston's manager contends Palin has been paid more than $10,000 by Johnston since her son was born, according to TMZ.

Palin's attorney, Thomas Van Flein, said in a statement to CNN: "Bristol has set forth the facts regarding child support in her affidavit filed in court. The law in Alaska is clear: a parent is obligated to support his or her child. It is unfortunate Bristol has to seek court intervention in this regard."

Amazing how the attorney can make it seem that $10,000 is enough since the child was born! Good for Bristol for going after that deadbeat! She is class all the way by staying out of the fray when it came to her personal life. KUDOS!

But we need to keep the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman only, that way people like these can breed. Isn't this just wonderful.

Just another 'keep our names in the public eye' article. Maybe she should ask her mother for assistance since her mother is making alot more money than Levi or better yet take some responsibility and not ask others to bail you out. Great family values up there in Alaska!

$10,000 since their son was born is not much of an amount, either. His lawyer should have been embarrassed to even make such a statement. Big deal, $10,000. Not much for housing, food, clothes, diapers, formulas, baby good, etc. Levi, stop trying to be a celebrity and low life and get a job and support your son.

Why in the world is this article even in the Political Ticker section? Bristol and Levi have nothing to do with politics, regardless of who her mother is. This belongs in a gossip column.

They shouldn't of had the bloody kid. Why do young people insist on–well Americans–having babies when they can't take care of them? Awful

Another pathetic attempt by Sarah. Using her daughter to try to hurt Levi. I feel sorry for Bristol being used this way. Sarah Palin is a disgrace in every way.

And this is newsworthy because she's Sarah Palin's daughter? Come on CNN, can't you find better things to do with your resources than chase "gossip column" stories. How 'bout opening up some of the real stories for comments?

If it's not one Palin trying to stay in the limelight it's another one.....enough of these people.....why won't her lawyer comment.....maybe because this girl is as much of a lier as her mother.

My father did not ever give a single cent to my mom. Bristol, your parents are helping to raise your child. Your mom is now working for Fox. So, you want to suddenly and vindictively (like mother like daughter) ask for over a thousand dollars a month because he made over 100k in a year.

My Mom was poor and left poor as a result of my father, you are living at home and should have been practicing what you now preach.

I am glad that this young lady, who obviously comes from a poor family who are not capable of assisting in supporting the child in any fashion, has obtained a legally binding judgement forcing a 19-year-old young man to pay an amount nearly 5x the standard amount your average 19 year old pays monthly in child support, based on his income in one non-standard earning year in his life.

I mean, I'm sure that Levi Johnston will still be doing $100k a year in interviews in 2025. Right?

Let's see the receipts of the payments and if so, Bristol (and her idiotic mother who undoubtedly chime in) should shut their mouths. And where did $1750 come from? her empty head or her obviously available nether region?

And just how is this "news"...CNN is turning into a super market tabloid. Usually "Ticker" focuses on political interests, but it is now expanding to include "information" that is usually found in the gossip columns.
