Avlon: Sad but true

(CNN) - Introducing the section of his speech on national security, President Obama started by mentioning the way the unity we felt after 9/11 has dissipated and he criticized the partisan politics that is increasingly played on this front.

"I know that all of us love this country," Obama said.

Sad that it needed to be said, but it did.

Very sad. Republicans feel iti is politically smart to block and say NO to everything.

REPUBLICAN PARTY = MALE, PALE AND STALE

The Governor failed to mention Richard Reid had the same treatment as the Christmas Underpants Bomber, that was under a Republican Prez.

  2. 8 Years of the Bush Error = Recession and Record Unemployment for ? Years.

It was no less than the RNC chairman Michael Steele that stated "bi-partisanship is over-rated" and heads of the Republicans in Congress have openly stated they are trying to "break" President Obama and insure he meets his "Waterloo".

When the stated party of No agenda is for the President to "fail" how does that help America? When you wish failure for the leader of America, you wish failure for America.

Would the Saints be the NFC champs if Brees had played like Farve?

TOO bad doesn't love the country as much as the rest of us or she would have never had stated that "for the first time in my adult life, I am truly proud of my country" (not once but twice) after her hubby was nominated for Prez, EVEN THOUGH she has lived the live that only a few folks could ever dream of.....pathetic!

I would remember in the voting boot that republicans chose to save their party rather than help the president and democrats in power save the nation in a crisis 8 years of republican rule created.
They chose their party and ratings over the nation. That I would never forget, ever.

This administration and congress is responsible for most of the division of the citizens with their far left liberal agendas.

Sad but true.. Obama did not have make so MANY promises. It made it very difficult to follow tonight's address. It made it almost like a never ending action plan pack jammed never ot be completed no matter what!! I love the core value of the message and where America COULD be (ideologically speaking) if all goes well. Both chambers need to reflect on this. You are elected to serve the American people not just to fatten your pockets and enjoy a great best health care coverage. Work like you cared about the difference you are making. Work to make a difference in the American people's life (Psych!!!!)

So true, so true. We all love this country. I remember 9/12 when almost every car in the midwest had an American flag on it. By 10/11 most were torn, tatered, or in ditches. SAD.

Obama has engaged in trillion in corrupt spending and debt. We have 10% UNEMPLOYMENT! Yet he intends to spend hundreds of million of dollars for Circus trials for the murdering terrorist who planned 9/11 in NYC! The underwear bomber was read Miranda rights rather than interrogated for information that might save American lives. If Obama truly loves our country and hard unemployed Americans he has a strange way of showing it. We still don't know why all of our National Security leaders were ignored in making the decision to read the Underwear bomber Miranda rights. We still don't know who authorized letting him go silent instead of interrogating him?????

it is very sad when the republican party brands everyone eles as unpatriotic and easy on terrorism. I don't think any one person in the presidents cabinet wants anything but the best for this country. Tired of all the fear and name calling . These tea baggers are our own home grown terriorist when they can carry guns to meetings hand in effigy the president and name call.

This is as good a place in this line of "fact checks" as any to point out that if the press had looked this closely and this quickly at the "W"'s rhetoric he would have been run out of town on a rail before he was annointed a second term by this "non-Activist" Court.
