Palin declines to be a Weatherproof model

ALT TEXT

Weatherproof is removing an image of President Obama Wednesday. Sarah Palin has also declined to appear in an ad for the company. (Getty Images)

(CNN) - The outdoor brand Weatherproof is again out of luck as it searches for a high-profile face to lead its "A leader in style" ad theme.

The company first acquired the rights of an Associated Press photograph of President Obama sporting a black Weatherproof jacket during his trip to China last fall. But the company never asked permission from the White House to use the image, and when it appeared on a billboard in New York last month President Obama's aides demanded it be taken down.

The company agreed, hoping to replace the president's image with one of former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, who has also been photographed in a Weatherproof jacket.

But Palin's attorney tells CNN her office has declined the brand's request.

No word on which famous pol the company may look to next.

If Weatherproof is out for a 'leader in style', shouldn't they find someone who is actually a leader and not a quitter?

how sweet!!!! Obama will put his face anywhere. He has to be the most egotistical president up to date!! What did He (obama) and Michelle think they were proving when they had their photo made with both of them with the wrong hand over their hearts?? I think they knew what they were doing and there was a message there, I would supect the message was this: There may be a little trouble in our marriage, but, at least Obama is still mine. Hey Michelle guess what? no one else would ever want your husband (Obama) The America women have a lot of pride, most would never set their eye on a liar, so relax and keep your eye on Oprah, she would be the one you need to watch......Betty

Finally something she's qualified to do, and she declines. Why can't she spare us the misery of hearing her painfully ignorant worldview and decline to give interviews or write columns?

I think you mean which one they're going to rip-off next, by using their image.

She might as well. She's never been much of a "leader" to begin with, and she's been whoring herself out to the media for years. Why pass up the extra exposure?

I'm not surprised! After all the noise she made about Levi's being a model, how could she flip-flop? Would love to hear her comments on the Republican Senator from Mass.'s posing NUDE! I'm sure it was OK with her because 1. he was trying to earn money for school 2. He's good looking. Whereas Levi wants to 1. raise money to buy a house for his son to visit 2. He certainly is good looking. Maybe he's not a Republican. Hmmmmmmmmm

If they are looking for a model that will put them out of business they can hire former VP Cheney posed with a shot guy and one of his friends nursing a gunshot wound.

How much to you want to bet that PALIN contacted THEM...JUST so she could turn them down?

I'd wager that. I wouldn't put it past her at all.

As if Weatherproof did not know it would be taken down. Now hundreds of thousands (or more) will see the photo and know of the brand. Brilliant!

They should use a big-time liar like Bernie Madoff as their high-profile face. I looked at several "Weatherproof" jackets at the Mast general store, read the labels very carefully, and discovered that there is nothing at all weatherproof about them. Lies.
