Washington (CNN) - If Kendrick Meek and Marco Rubio win their respective party nominations for the Florida Senate race, do you think they will travel together on the campaign trail?
Unlikely. But on Thursday, the two Senate hopefuls found themselves on the same flight from Tampa to Ft. Lauderdale, and each "tweeted" about it on the microblog Twitter.
"On a Southwest flt from Tampa to Ft Lauderdale," Meek, a Democratic congressman, wrote in shorthand. "In seat 12A. Who's in seat 9A? Marco Rubio! Exchanged a few laughs. Keeping an eye on him:)"
Perhaps as Meek was watching him, Rubio was typing away.
"On same SW Flight from Tampa as Kendrick Meek and Wasserman Schultz," wrote Rubio, who noted that Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz was also on the same airplane. "Wonder what they where doing in Tampa today? LOL"
Rubio was referencing an earlier town hall meeting President Obama and Vice President Biden held in Tampa that was attended by Meek and Wasserman Schultz.
