Senate ready to tackle jobs

New York (CNNMoney.com) - Senate Democrats are expected to take up President Obama's call and start rolling out their employment creation package by week's end.

With the balance of power shifted in the Senate, Democrats have moved away from introducing a comprehensive bill similar to the $154 billion legislation passed by the House in December. Instead, the Democrats will likely push through smaller measures in stages.

"First of all, we do not have a jobs bill," said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, on Tuesday. "We have a jobs agenda that we're working on."

Look at you liberals. All you want to do is expand the government and take control of everything. You want to create all government jobs. How about letting a majority of the funds go to the private sector?

Typical liberal politics, wanting to control everything and not let the people work on their own.

  3. If you want something ruined, put a republican in charge

It will be interesting to watch the obstructing republicans vote against jobs for Americans. Even Fox won't be able to hide that, by cutting away to their clowns to bash Obama.

And now these measures can be properly debated. As a citizen, I only ask that the return on investment exceed the cost.in no uncertain terms. We cannot afford more mortgaging of our children's future.

It's time Senate Democrats get their tails in gear and start moving out legislation. If any "Blue Dogs" want to get in the way – The party should disavow them: they may as well be treated like Republicans and ignored.

Bravo to the President for FINALLY getting after those treacherous, treasonous Republicans. These guys aren't patriots or anything close. They are a bunch of thugs paid off by corporations and in cahoots with crooked so called "Christian" Organizations. There's nothing Christian about those inbreeding Right Wing psychos.

Anyone who stands up for the American Constitution should egg Republican trash like Michelle Bachman every time she opens her echo-headed mouth.

The only way the House and Senate will roll out jobs is if their own jobs are dependent upon it. They already spent nearly 1 trillion dollars and we got NOTHING for it but keeping the bureaucrats amongst us in gravy while the common privately employed citizens have watched their life savings and livelihoods go down the drain. I am in my fifties and this has been an eye opener for me, I am an Independent and I will NEVER vote for any Democrat again as long as I live! Don't think I favor the Republicans either, they are all serving themselves to our hard earned gravy, destroying our society with their deer in the headlights complacency, each and every one of them!

I don't trust the Dems, they are a bunch of morons.

Wasn't it the same argument they made with the first stimulis bill? Wasn't it supposed to have manufacturing and constrcution job working? Last time I checked, those sectors are losing jobs.

I don't understand the difference or the intent.

The article should be titled to read, "Senate Ready to Increase Spending"

Barry's tirade today demonizing the GOP is EXACTLY the opposite of what he pledged he would not do during his State of the Union lecture one short week ago!

Bozo is a typical politition only interested in idiology and political gain. His lies and promises are pathetic. Nothing more!

"employment creation package", a creative way to avoid saying stimulus 2. Maybe they should spend all of the money in stimulus 1 before declaring it a failure.

Ahahaha! What a joke. Gee, do you think a jobs bill will be written by corporate lobbyists and rubber stamped by their pet congress critters on both sides of the aisle? Look for 60 hr. workweeks and no benefits or vacation time, coming soon to an employer near you. But at least you'll have a job. Good thing those pesky union thugs didn't get involved. They're what's destroying this country, don'tcha know ;) Have a nice day!

Are they going to deal with real jobs or Obama type jobs, that are false if they exist at all, supplement the already extremely lazy and non productive union members or government workers that do not produce anything. Never having had a job or a business Obama does not know anything about creating jobs other than taxpayers paying for them. What an idiot.

Until this President, Senate and Congress address OUTSOURCING and pass a Bill to MANDATE all U.S. Companies must bring jobs back within 6 Months or start facing heavy fines.
If after 12 months they have not brought back the jobs they Outsourced, then they lose their U.S. Business License and must close.

In 2009 the U.S. hit the $300 Billion Dollar mark in Outsourced jobs.

Their Jobs Bill is FRAUD and desception at best.

The Senate failed on healthcare reform, the Senate failed on financial reform, the Senate will fail on a jobs package (a timely, meaningful one anyway.)

Senators and Representatives realize the country elected a Democratic malority in both House of Congress to govern. The Republicans when they had the majority of one in the Senate had the backbone to pass whatever they wanted.
So my fellow Democrats get a backbone and govern or we will find ourselves as the minority again.

Agree with "american patriot" and "Randolph Carter, I'm no expert, but..."!!!! The problem is never DEALing with the ROOT Causes!
    1. Protective trade tariffs
    2. Stopping Outsourcing or make them pay dearly
    3. Penalize them severely
    4. R-E-G-U-L-A-T-E the Financial/Corporate Monopolists
    5. Repeal the Trade treaties that hurt Americans/Everyone else and only help global robber barons
    6. Take all government benefits/healthcare/too high wages away to save money until they extend these to Americans working for the serf-makers!
    7. Comprehensive election Reforms NOW
    8. Impeach the Supreme "Activist" Court members who violated the Constitution
    9. Take away Corporate personhood. They each have a collective multi-faceted vote as individuals participating in this country and their respective companies! Logic is Fundamental! But Greed is Destructive!
    10. NO MORE WAR and excessive MILITARY spending, warmongers!

Much more we need to do, but can we start here for some real ChaNGE i CAN BELIEVE IN?

We tried that. It was called "trickle down economics." It hasn't worked for 30 years. All it did was destroy the middle class. Why would it suddenly magically start working now? Have a nice day!
