President Obama to throw bipartisan Super Bowl party

President Obama will host a Super Bowl party this weekend at the White House.

(CNN) - President Obama will hold his second bipartisan Super Bowl party this weekend, his aides announced Friday morning.

It will be a much smaller affair than last year when more than 75 people gathered to watch the game at the White House theater. Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said about 40 people altogether are invited Sunday to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

White House aides say House and Senate lawmakers, both Democratic and Republican, representing competing states on behalf of the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts have been invited. So far those who've accepted the invitations include Indiana Democratic Reps. Andre Carson, Baron Hill, and Brad Ellsworth, and Louisiana Republican Rep. Joseph Cao. Military service members who've been injured fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan will also be guests, along with their spouses and children.

Gibbs says the White House will put out a more complete list of attendees later in the day.

Last year the president hosted fans of the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers. Guests that year told CNN the president went walking from room to room serving them brownies and oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies. Also on last year's menu: hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, chips and salsa, soft pretzels, hot fudge ice cream and pizza.

It ASTOUNDS me about almost everyone. They cannot realize that it is the Bankers and the Central Banking / Fed cartel that run America. And right now they are running it into oblivion. Yes by all means go back to the Constitution. Things were never meant to go like they are going now. How dare any private group have control over the presses that print the money !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While I know this Preident likes sports, I am far more concerned with the number of innocent lives being taken by NO CHANGE in U.S. WAR policy. Drones are nothing to smile about when children are in terror due to the constant FEAR this nation Exports! Ending this practice of exporting wars for profits would HONOR that prize prematurely awarded in Blasphemy against all things Sacred! Peace

No doubt that this too will get the tea baggers enraged. Perhaps they'll link chips and salsa to illegal immigration and claim Obama is trying to indoctrinate the country to accepting amnesty. Tea Baggers are idiots.

If T- Bag Party is full of people like xenophobes (spell that you ignoramus) like Tancredo, all us bleeding-heart-multicultural- psuedo- socialist-lefties have nothing to worry about. Check your demographics and realize the folly of your ways T-Bone steak heads.

A nice contrast to the ridiculous extremist tea partier Tancredo. President Obama actually cares about helping the American people and has repeatedly shown a willingness for bi-partisanship. Tea Partiers are nothing but an angry mob who complain about everything but have no idea how they would move our country forward. Tancredo is a complete imbecile.

"the president went walking from room to room serving them brownies and oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies"

WOW, I just love this hard hitting news. I'd much rather be informed with information such as The President serving food instead of real news.....

1.45 Trillion added to the budget deficit in 2009
1.60 Trillion to be added to the budget deficit in 2010
1.35 Trillion to be added to the budget deficit in 2011
1.35 Trillion to be added to the budget deficit in 2012
That is 5.75 TRILLION in 4 years....

He spends more and more each day with no end in sight and CNN does a story on food service. Give me a freakin break.

I will bet you anything that Cao is the only Republican who will accept. All the others believe that if they are seen with President Obama that they will get primaried back home with pictures of them at the White House party. That is how far down the rabbit hole of partisan HATE we have gone and it is 99.9% the fault of the Republicans. Not just the ones in Washington, either, but the racist small-minded jerks who vote for them and believe that people who voted for Obama are either not real (ACORN – booga booga!), too stupid, not "really" American, or confirmed Socialists/Communists.

I've had it with these people who act like this. Completely had it with them. Their anger and paranoia are destroying this country. And the press goes along with them like there is something to their arguments. Unbelievable. I suppose CNN will be really happy to cover the Beer Hall putsches once the Tea Partiers get them going, eh? It's all equal, right?

  20. Too True For You

Why bother? The conservatives will just eat your food, ask for your autograph, laugh at your jokes, then stab you in the back.

They don't give a rat's patoot about bipartisanship. For them it's "party uber alles" or for their more populist brown shirts, "Ein Volk, Ein reich, Ein Fuhrer (aka Rush)!"

The new Senator Brown will be campaigning for John McCain in the State of Arizona, that's right campaigning. Senator Brown talks about the state of the economy but yet campaigns for McCain who said himself "he doesn't know anything about economics". Not a smart move Mr. Brown.
