Gibbs takes jab at Palin

Washington (CNN) - White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs made a dig at former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin Tuesday during the White House daily briefing.

"I wrote a few things down. I wrote eggs milk and bread, but I crossed out bread just so I can make pancakes for Ethan if it snows," Gibbs said showing the palm of his hand with notes written on it. "Then I wrote down hope and change just in case I forgot that."

Gibbs was apparently taking a jab at Palin who had notes written on her hand during a question and answer session at the Tea Party Convention Saturday night in Nashville, Tennessee.

It was later determined Palin had written the words "Energy," "Tax Cuts," and "Lift American Spirits" in her palm.

Let me get this straight - Palin delivers her entire speech with only six words written down (albeit on her hand). I'll give her a lot of credit for that.

Let's have Obama talk without his teleprompter. That would be a laugh.

At least Palin wrote on her own hand. Obama would need someone to draft the words for his hand.

I'm not surprised that Palin was offended by someone's use of the word retarded. She probably heard it a lot while she was growing up!

It just goes to show what most of us saw and remembered from the campaign that Sarah is not too bright. Can you imagine her being our President and reading from notes on her hand. Oh wait, she would probably have to have notes going all the way up both arms. What a joke she is.

Her daughter later put "Hi Mom" on Palin's hand, as a jab at the
critics, so Gibbs can do the same.
This woman needs to read some books, take geography lessons,
and a little brushing up on her presentations wouldn't hurt
either. This "hopeychangy" c–p really needs to go.

I have one simple question for anyone that would support Palin for anything: Would you trust her to invest and manage all your assets? 'Nuf said!

Wow. How mature. It is good to see that this is how the Obama administration handles it's critics, by making fun of them to the press corps. Gibbs should have added, "She is a poopie-head" at the end of the speech. That would have shown her. Pathetic.

Wow, so hard for her to remember those 3 little items. Could you imagine if she was VP or, worse, Pres? She'd have to write on both her arms and both her legs just to remember what to say during one entire day.

Wonder if Ms. Palin also wrote "Go home after meeting" on her palm ... kinda as a reminder. Of course, the "Lift American Spirits" could be very easily achieved: GO HOME and STAY THERE! *wink wink*

The Republican Party will never regain credibility after sticking with Queen Dunce. You have to worry about the dim bulbs who continue to worship the fool.

Barack uses teleprompters... yes... very true. HOWEVER, he's not the one calling her out on it. When you point the finger Palin, 4 fingers (plus...energy, tax cuts and lift Americans) is pointing back at you. It's just like when you asked for Rahm to be fired and days later Rush says the same thing only worst, he calls you out on it but you defend the guy. Get real!!! Take your "real Americans" and give it up! The majority spoke in November 2008 and we will do the same in 2012. Write that on your hand you bozo.

This from a guy whose boss is unable to say "good morning" to his wife and kids without a teleprompter?

That was awful. Only a little kid would have to scribble like that on their palm. Plus it was scribbled out even worse.

People who make an ass out of themselves for a living should be made fun of and the media should show a little self respect and stop covering this dope.
The media lends undeserved credibility to this fraud by pretending she is worth covering or anything but a compete and utter moron.

What a hypocrite! Obama uses a tele-prompter for every speech and Palin write a few words on her hand. The Democrats are afraid of this woman.

I love it when the opposition gets exposed for who they really are. Palin got caught and so will the rest of these Republicans when it is revealed through the upcoming White House meetings that they are really not for the middle class. That President Obama is the best thing that could have happened to America. Predicting that 3 thing will happen to the GOP overtime. They will be 1) exposed 2) revealed and 3) removed.

Palin is really getting to the Democratic party. It's hard to believe that this type of comment would be given by the White House Press Secretary after all the talk about cooperation between parties. This is not a way to make friends! I wonder who put him up to it?

Sarah, we'll forgive you the cheat sheet if you stop whinging about Obama using a teleprompter.

What on earth is so bad about a teleprompter isn't even clear. I guess the presumption – or the insinuation the Obama haters want to make without actually coming out and saying it – is that use of a teleprompter means you're just being fed words that you don't mean and had nothing to do with writing. But we've read reports of exactly how involved Barack Obama is with the content of his speeches and addresses – so it's not true that he's being fed words. Truth is, if the content of a speech is sophisticated, nuanced and *important* – you want to absolutely ensure that it's delivered right – and using a teleprompter sure saves time memorizing it by rote when you (as a President) have more important things to do. There's just nothing wrong with using a teleprompter.

On the other hand (har!), if the level of sophistication of your speech doesn't rise above sound-bite level, say "Drill, baby, drill!" or "Only dead fish go with the flow!" or the like, well, certainly then you probably have no need for a teleprompter. Poor Sarah couldn't even pull that off, though, and rather than admit that she was just painting cheap smears by decrying the teleprompter, she tried to cheat via a different method, and found herself on the business end of needlessly vindictive criticism. Needless because, if she hadn't made such a snot out of herself with her own criticism, those of us who are frankly fed up with her existence wouldn't have deemed this little hand-note thing worthy of any mention at all.

The PalinPalmPrompter. Not available in stores. Call now !

She would have been taken seriously if she had memorized the entire speech... but she used written or typed notes or did she have a built-in prompter in the podium... Can the real journalist please stand up and call this fool what she is unelectable for President or for that matter the President of the PTO board.

The recently released e-mails showing "The First Dudes" involvement in "advising" the Governor showed just how inept Sara Palin really is.

    enough said......

Whatever your politics, Gibbs speaks for the President. It is completely lacking in class to mock others at any time. Come on man! Grow up. Why do I have to ask this of Gibbs? Or am I asking it of the President?

Why don't you point out that Obama needs a teleprompter just to say hello to 5th graders. Have any of you ever heard him without a teleprompter? He makes Dan Quayle look articulate.

Okay. This was funny but he shouldn't have done it. It will just make the nuts come back out of the wood works. I'm sure it was just too hard to resist but we aren't used to so much humor coming from the White House. Kinda refreshing though...
