(CNN) – A political mystery of sorts in Minnesota may have been solved.
A billboard popped up north of Minneapolis on I-35 featuring former President George W. Bush's image next to the words "Miss Me Yet?" last December. But until Tuesday it wasn't known who paid for it.
While the identities of the sign owners are still unclear, the general manager of the advertising company who owns the billboard space told Minnesota Public Radio it was financed by "a group of small business owners who feel like Washington is against them."
"They wish to remain anonymous. They thought it was a fun way of getting out their message," said Mary Teske, of Schubert & Hoey Outdoor Advertising.
Schubert & Hoey did not return CNN's request for comment.

Only a matter of time before more and more people wish this to be true. The fact is Obama is taking this country down a path that we may not be able to recover from. The sooner he's gone and conservatives are returned to power, the better off we all will be.
Obama keeps saying that Bush did it this way too. I guess he is attempting be just like him. And you all thought you didn't want another Bush. How's it working out for you? Not well it would seem.
Personally, I would take Bush any day over what we have at the moment.
For all of those who keep saying how Obama has raised taxes, socialized America, etc. – Please identify one tax increase or bill that has done so. You all talk about the "bailout", which was authorized by the Bush Administration. Please, prove your IQ is higher than that of the toilet seat I sat on this morning to create another Tea Bagger.
How can we miss him when we're still stuck with the consequences of his dumb policies and a GOP that demands more of the same? It's like a cross of Groundhog Day with a stuck record. Obama save us!
HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN THE SKY IS FALLING FOR THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY?
When the majority of the comments on a liberal webpage like CNN are bashing OBOZO and the other members of the socialist party. 2010 and 2012 are going to be a positive change compared to the socialists that are in charge now. CHANGE IS A COMIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nope!
I have an idea about who paid for this...Halliburton, Exxon, Humana, etc.
I had assumed the billboard was paid for by liberal groups trying to resurrrect the memories of the President who presided over the worst economy since the Great Depression, the housing bubble, invasion of a country that didn't invade us (Iraq) and the mishandling of the response to Hurricane Katrina. Prior to Bush, Republicans opposed runaway federal spending and nation-building. When Bush was President they had control of all 3 branches of government and ran up record deficits and massive nation-building with no exit strategy or spending limits.
Perhaps those "small business owners" (midgets?) and W would like to actually perform something constructive on behalf of the incredible members of our military at risk because of Moron such as four or five tours of duty in Afghanistan disarming IED's or drawing enemy fire. I can dream, can't I.
@Eddie the blame bush thing don't work anymore. Get off the computer and get a job rather than depending on OBOZO for your weekly check!!!!!
That ad could help the dems just as much. Makes you remember who got us into this mess. No we don't miss you.
I didn't know Bush wasn't president anymore. We've still got the Patriot Act. We're still eavesdropping on terrorists. Gitmo is still open. We're still bailing out Wall Street. We've upped the ante in Afghanistan. Exactly what change has happened since the election?
When Republicans start to advertise, that billboard will be their biggest enemy.
GWB is, without doubt one of the luckiest men alive. To have behaved in such a self absorbed and criminal way and to have no greater consequence than to be a joke – now that's LUCK.
Miss him like a rash! I don't know what I would have done with my money and job anyway. Much thanks!
Has hell frozen over?
Everybody regrets voting for Obama. His administration has passed t bills surreptitiously under the noses of Americans. Case in point is this particular bill - SB-2099. You can find the bill by doing a search on the bill number. Obama has a master plan to subvert the American people with his socialist agenda. America wake up!
Bush, Cheney, Palin..... They can't seem to get over the fact that noone wanted them after those miserable years! I'm sure the many families of all the soldiers who died pointlessly in Iraq miss him a lot as well.
...Do I miss the 2000. stolen election. The terrorist are coming every other month. The yellow alert, amber alert, and the orange alert....You are doing a heck-of-a-job brownie. Him, saying my base is" the have mores.".....9/11...Anthrax.......Richard Reid, the "shoe bomber".....I could go on and on.....But the right-wing nuts....Will say, I'm making this all up............And that it's all Obama's fault...........................
No we don't miss you W. We're still cleaning up the mess you made of our country.
HELL YES we miss you! Even Obama misses you, all he can do is talk about you!
@ Lacross MOM the real one you love Obama because he believes in your socialist views and hatred for capitalism. The problem is you are a minority in this country and because of that you, Barack, and the rest of the liberals in congress will be defeated in 2010, 2012, and the rest of the years following because people don't like far left nuts like you. By the way Scott Brown says hello!!!!! Let me guess he is a racist and war monger just like Palin Eh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am by NO MEANS a fan of Bush, but this...this is CIVIL.
Anyone who misses Bush doesn't have any friends or family in the military.
over 4,000 troops dead, al qaida is stronger than ever, no WMDs and no bin Laden.
Bush = Epic Fail
seebofubar wrote "Have you ever seen so many people so against the sitting administration?"
Uh...yes. Actually, when W was in the white house, there were more people screaming about him than there are now about Obama. (Not that any conservative could hear the screaming; they were too busy bellying up for handouts from their good buddies W and Cheney.) Obama's nowhere near perfect, but he comes a lot closer than W ever could. W is a moron and should never have been elected–Oops! He WASN'T elected, that's right! His cronies STOLE the presidential seat for him because they wanted him to return the favor! I wish someone would give them what they REALLY deserve as payback!
Man, some of these right wing folks really have some short term memory loss!
