Obama willing to go 'incremental' on jobs

Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama indicated Tuesday he's open to "incremental steps" on job growth legislation.

"It's realistic for us to get a package moving quickly that may not include all the things I think need to be done," he said.

Obama said he hoped an initial bill would help "build trust" and allow Congress to then move on to other measures.

"We spent a lot of time in this meeting discussing a jobs package and how we can move forward on that," Obama said. "And if there are additional ideas, I will consider them."

As long as something gets done to get people back to work. There are plenty of people that would like to get back to work in their field. We need to be able to get people back there or train them to work in other areas of the economy.

  2. If you want something ruined, put a republican in charge

The republicans do not want jobs created. It would mean that their obstruction failed.

OK, I didn't like it when the obstructionists wanted to slow down health care reform, but I understood their concerns a bit. I cannot imagine why on earth they would want to go slow on jobs legislation, unless they don't care about you and me and just want Obama to fail.

People, wake up. The republicans are playing politics instead of working for the people of the United States. You can't hate government and be a part of government...if you hate it that much, please go get a private sector job (if there are any to get after you're done ruining this great country).

The government cannot make jobs except in the government sector. Obama and crew need to stop the spending so the financial systems will build trust again and put private credit and capital to work.

We need jobs NOW! I don't get why these grown adults can't work out their trust issues in some other way. Please, GOP, go see a therapist, and then get back to work. Doesn't the federal government have an employee assistance program for employees who have mental health issues?

Let me guess a job bill that in discuise will just be another pork project from the KING OF PORK. Somewhat like the stimulus which was a complete failure. Oh wait I forgot it saved millions of jobs(Does anybody including the president truly believe that the stimubust worked?)

Here's the scoop on what Obama inherited ...

    I'm Sick of "Inherited"

The Washington Post babbled again today about Obama inheriting a huge deficit from Bush, blah blah blah. Amazingly enough, a lot of people swallow this nonsense.

So once more, I'll try a short civics lesson.

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party. They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases. For FY 2009, though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spe nding bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009.

Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period:

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is, "I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th."

All we need is TARIFFS!!!!!!!! What is wrong with protecting America first and worring about a global economy second. All the other great nations of the world do it that way, especailly China and Japan.
What would happen if China stopped shipping goods to the USA ? All the Walmart stores shelves would be empty in a matterr of hours. Then we would have to go back to manafacturing are own products here in America. Gee that might just solve the unemployment problem. America, WAKE UP!!!!

Wow, a couple of hours of discussion and the jobs bill is all resolved. Of course he left himself two outs. The first is that if it's ineffective he can blame the Republicans because it did "not include all the things I think need to be done". The second is that if the Republicans don't support whatever Pelosi and Reed come up with, he 's offered that "if there are additional ideas, I will consider them" because whatever they offered all ready was no good

Well Obozo thinks small businesses should take out loans to boost payroll, just goes to show how little he knows about running a business. The Great Community Organizer is finally showing us that he's nothing more than a third rate political hack.

Man this is truly getting pathetic....Government does not create commerce through appropriation of funding to hire people to be fed off the tax nipple. The job market will begin to recover when there is financial security in the market, banks can lend, government backs out and regulates the way it was intended to and the free marketeers that remain are willing to invest their money to make more money. Think about what is going on, expansion of government to record highs just like California, Chicago and New York, retirement, non-taxable benefits, penisons, vacation pay, comp time... How is creating a massive legacy of Federal pensioners going to help dig us out of the debt hole we now find ourselves in? Oh gee, I forgot, I must have figured that out from watching Faux news or something, couldn't have been smart enough to figure it out myself, please send me an enlightened feminist or something....did you ever think maybe Faux news reads posts.

No new spending, if he wants a job bill take some of the useless stimulus funds for it. He must think he is spending monopoly money, another reason why community organizers should stick to what they do best and not try and govern, his lack of experience is killing our country.

The government cannot create enough jobs for our country. What it can do though is tax all goods made outside this country and force American companies to bring their jobs back to this country.

"Build trust?" In Obama's tax-everything-that-moves government? He's got to be kidding...

The only thing that's going to help with jobs is for Obama's government to stop sucking every dime he can find out of people and small businesses–how can businesses hire people when Obama has taxed them into bankruptcy? How can people buy from businesses when they've been taxed close to poverty?
