Clinton ponders Palin presidency

(CNN) – While the thought of a Sarah Palin presidency may leave some Democrats running for the hills, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton joked Tuesday she will "not be emigrating" should the former Alaska governor win a White House bid.

Clinton was asked during a town-hall meeting at an all-women college in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, if she would consider moving to Canada or Russia instead of living in the United States under a President Palin.

Clinton was amused.

"Well, the short answer is no. I will not be emigrating," she said to laughter. "I will be visiting as often as I can."

Clinton, who is on a tour of the Gulf Region, also took aim at the never-ending nature of the American political process.

"It is part of the American political environment that people are always speculating on who will run for president and who will become president," she said. "And I have gone through that experience personally so I am very well acquainted with it."

"But I am not going to speculate on who might or might not be nominated by the Republicans," Clinton added. "I am very proud to support Barack Obama and I will continue to support Barack Obama."

Clinton battled Obama for the Democratic nomination in 2008, nearly bcoming the first woman to capture a major party's presidential nomination.

I think "Indy" said it best (2:44 PM). Time for truthful representation of what characteristics will be needed for ALL domestic USA political leaders (Senate, House, Governors, Mayors). The country, and the world need steady hands on the tillers to navigate such currently dangerous waters, not glib, simplistic, irrational, blindly partisan, arrogant, bullying, and intellectually dishonest representations which have been perpetrated on BOTH sides in the past. May the media stop trying to improve ratings by stirring the pots of hatred that become apparent (simply reading the comments to this story prove that point) and it might help America retain a semblance of decency for which it once stood in most of the world.

Was Obama qualified? He spent less than one year as a functional Senator. What was in his resume that most of you felt qualified him?
While you hate Palin, she is just as constitutionally qualified as Obama was! As a state executive, even more so! What blinds you to this is your hatred of a conservative woman, nothing more, nothing less! You probably need to take a good, hard look at how YOUR party is chasing out moderate voices like Bayh! That should keep you busy for a LONG while!

I think we should run Algore for president ,if we can find him. By the time we get through counting votes we will have decided if there is such thing as global warming. As soon as we stop shoveling snow here in the sunny South we will put some thought into it.

Palin probably doesn't have the experience to be PREZ, but she's got some common sense ideas that put her WAY AHEAD of the socliasist agendas of Billary and Obozo.

Obama was not dealt any kind of hand that he was not aware of unless he is not as educated as he is considered to be by many. He begged you to elect him and now you got him.

Why is this even a question? If it weren't for the media, she would have disappeared long ago.

It's too bad Hillary wouldn't stay gone. I'm sure a lot of Americans think we're better off with her out of here.

With all the vitriol spewed forth at Palin, she must be doing something right, huh mom!

Sarah Palin was made in GW Bush's image. She is his prodigy, his spawn, his creation. GW made Nixon seem like a rational environmentalist; Palin makes GW seem moderate, educated and coherent. This is dumbing down at its most insidious. This is why Republicans want to keep the masses uneducated, so they can position an imbecile such as herself in a place that matters.

For a woman that the Dems claim to be so so inept, they sure are worried. With what they got,Obamie and the Dems that have not jumped ship,I would be worried too.The party of "yes we can" might not stand up to Palin.Yes we can waste 787 billion for jobs and the unemployment goes up.Yes we can take a year to realize we need jobs.Yes we can fail on a Health care bill after a year with 86% citizens did not want it.YES WE CAN is now NO WE CAN NOT.Bye Bye Morons 1 and done.

The thought of Sarah as president boggles the mind. Imagine her trying to interact with world leaders. They would have to use crayons... although I think she will get along well with Hugo Chavez.

Hillary Clinton is certainly an excellent Secretary of State and has represented the U.S. very well around the world. This was a serious answer to the question in which she mentioned the openness and ongoing nature of American politics in a country where free elections do not take place. And, she backed up the President of the United States as I would hope all members of the Cabinet all Americans elected to public office would do when overseas.

Will Sarah be reading from her palm as she gives her speeches? GOP's make her SIT down while she's ahead. She's making a FOOL out of herself , her family & most of all the State of Alaska. She's a hypocrite.
