Palin targets Obey in Wisconsin

Sarah Palin urged followers Wednesday to donate to Sean Duffy.

Sarah Palin urged followers Wednesday to donate to Sean Duffy.

Washington (CNN) - Sarah Palin marked the one-year anniversary of President Obama's signing of the stimulus bill by urging followers Wednesday to donate money to a former MTV reality star.

Wisconsin Republican Sean Duffy is running in a primary where the winner will earn the right to challenge powerful House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey, a Democrat.

Obey introduced the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, legislation that is also known as the stimulus bill.

"In this election year, we'll see many darling Davids take on entrenched Goliaths," Palin wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday morning. "Just one of these many brave souls is a northern Wisconsin patriot named Sean Duffy."

While never mentioning Obey by name, Palin alludes to him as "a liberal Goliath who's been in Congress over 40 years now."

"Hope lies in draining the swamp in D.C. and sending Commonsense Conservatives to Washington who understand the need for fiscal restraint," Palin wrote.

Before facing off against Obey, Duffy will have to beat candidate Dan Mielke in the Republican primary.

Duffy is serving his fourth term as district attorney for Ashland County. He became known nationally for appearing as a cast member on MTV's 'The Real World.'

Does CNN have to report her every moronic word?

WHO CARES WHAT SHE "THINKS"? She's as dumb as yesterday's used tea bag.

Sarah couldn't appear on a reality TV show because she can't fathom reality.

They got rid of the entrenched party in 2008, you're trying to bring them back.

This woman needs a job. She spends way too much time on the FB. Using Facebook to attack others is such a childish, cowardly thing to do.

This woman has no right to use the name of David for her incorrect analogy. To coin a phrase that David would use to describe her, "What a piece of dreck".

If Palin & Co. are so convinced the recovery/stimulus bill was so bad, why are they always so quick to accept the benefits from it, even take credit for it?

Obey's tenure of radical socialist pacifist baloney in Congress for 40 years has constantly kept the tax and spend policies of the DNCers going for all of that time. Enough of this old bull. Oust him voters and perhaps we can get some economic sanity in America/

ha. where was all this "fiscal restraint" in the Bx43 years! The GOP has never accepted responsibility for their egregious excesses during those years, why should we trust them now. Ms. Palin needs to find a new dead horse to whip.

    Mr. Duffy,

If you want to loose any chance you have for anything, you let this woman speak on your behalf see where that will get you, the same place where that New York Republican lady went when she was running for house reqresentative in a heavily republican area.

WOW............ we are scared! Shaking in our boots. Wink.

Sure Americans will hand Congress back to the GOP, after ONLY three years of a Democratic majority!

The GOP did such a good job De-regulating banks and Wall Street that our Nation, faced economic collapse!

MTV Reality TV star, eh? Speaks for itself I should think. It's pretty much all Palin is anyway....except you could probably call her more of a "CNN Reality TV star" or "FAUX News Reality TV star". It's a simple plot..."oooh, what happens when a young no-knowledge hometown girl who managed to get elected to governor on her looks and ability to recite talking points gets nominated for VP, embarasses the hell out of herself and her party during the campaign but drums up a lot of hateful racist and fundamentalist base support for her party, then throws her state under the bus by quitting her job as governor to pursue fame, fortune and maybe a run for POTUS?" I could sell that tripe to any big time director any day. You media people can't get enough of following her around and shoving her up the country's collective butt like a political suppository. The vast majority of us recognize what a complete moron she is and believe her blather deserves no credence, but you just can't help yourselves can you? People from each party may point fingers at each other and yammer about "party before country"...but if the media deserves any epithet at all it's gotta be "ratings before journalism" or maybe "advertising revenue before journalism."

Its cynical and ironic that Republicans would ever characterize themselves as "Davids versus Goliaths".

The party that fails to fund public schools, actively fights against efforts to ensure civil liberties to everyone, takes every opportunity to chip away at guaranteeing the rights of women to control their own bodies, advocates tapping our phone taps without any oversight, and rules through its judiciary that giant corporations have the same civil rights as individuals....can never, ever, EVER claim to represent the interests oif "the little guy."

So you dimwitted waste of humanity....what about the "Goliaths" from the GOP that have been in congress for X number of years??? Are they to go too? Since you excel in hypocrisy (see R#tard–Oxycotin addict), I assume you give THEM a pass

"one of these many brave souls is a northern Wisconsin patriot". So, being on the Real World makes you a patriot?!?! He partied in a lavish rented house in LA (it was the first Real World, right?) and earned money from other reality show appearances...according to Palin that's as patriotic as serving in our military I guess.

Where was the "fiscal restraint" when she was building the "Bridge to Nowhere" or flying her family to NYC for a shopping trip, or writing off her per diem despite working at home?
I can't believe part of our population is so uneducated they follow this lady.
