Palin targets Obey in Wisconsin

Sarah Palin urged followers Wednesday to donate to Sean Duffy.

Washington (CNN) - Sarah Palin marked the one-year anniversary of President Obama's signing of the stimulus bill by urging followers Wednesday to donate money to a former MTV reality star.

Wisconsin Republican Sean Duffy is running in a primary where the winner will earn the right to challenge powerful House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey, a Democrat.

Obey introduced the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, legislation that is also known as the stimulus bill.

"In this election year, we'll see many darling Davids take on entrenched Goliaths," Palin wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday morning. "Just one of these many brave souls is a northern Wisconsin patriot named Sean Duffy."

While never mentioning Obey by name, Palin alludes to him as "a liberal Goliath who's been in Congress over 40 years now."

"Hope lies in draining the swamp in D.C. and sending Commonsense Conservatives to Washington who understand the need for fiscal restraint," Palin wrote.

Before facing off against Obey, Duffy will have to beat candidate Dan Mielke in the Republican primary.

Duffy is serving his fourth term as district attorney for Ashland County. He became known nationally for appearing as a cast member on MTV's 'The Real World.'

Palin and the entire Republican party are a bunch of hypocrites!! They continue to rail against the stimulus bill, yet they are out and about at ribbon cutting ceremonies for their states touting new projects for their states which were funded by YES....the stimulus bill! What a joke of a party!

Here are some numbers on the stimulus, you decide how well it has been working for you. Think Obey and Obama have done a good job?
Obama promised the stumulus would keep unemployment under 8%,
it is now 9.7% and expected to be around 10% until next year.
Since the stimulus was passed millions of private sector jobs have been lost and hundreds of thousands have given up looking for work.
Obama has increased the government spending budget by 300 billion and passed the now 862 billion stimulus all while we were in a recession and millions of jobs were being lost. This spending has grown the federal government massively and 113,000 new federal government jobs have been created since the stimulus was passed, the only job sector to see growth since the stimulus was passed. All on borrowed tax payer money. And the average new government job pays $71,000 compared to the average private sector job of $42,000.
When Obama promised the stimulus would create jobs, voters thought that included full time, living wage private secter jobs.
Looks like this has worked out really well for Obama's government. How about the rest of us?

"Commonsense Conservatives" – you mean those folks who think that cutting taxes on the wealthy while waging two wars will balance the budget?

Or are you referring to those folks who think that completely unregulated financial entities will make the best investments for their clients?

Or perhaps you are referring to those folks who think corporations are people and deserve First Amendment protection?

Just because you string a couple words together – "commonsense" and "conservatives" – doesn't make it a reality.

BTW, Ms. It Took Me 5 Colleges and 6 Years to Get a Degree in Journalism, "common sense" is two words, not one.

Palin is the new GW Bush: pliable, dumb and appealing to all the pliable, dumb Republicans out there.

She's being used by Karl Rove, who only picked her for this purpose: If McCain had gotten elected, he'd be taken out of the picture, and she'd be president, with Rove and Cheney pulling the strings.

If McCain got defeated, she'd quit her job as governor and hit the road, stirring up the “base” with all her winks and hateful, stupid nonsense.

Either way, Karl Rove is at it again: Trying to control our country so he can sell it off to the highest bidder, makes crazy sums of money for himself and his cronies, gut the Middle Class and in general turn the United States into a third-world country.
