Palin: Tea Partiers need to pick a party

Sarah Palin spoke at a Arkansas fundraising event Tuesday.
Sarah Palin spoke at a Arkansas fundraising event Tuesday.

(CNN) - Tea Party favorite Sarah Palin took a practical approach to this grassroots political movement Tuesday, telling Arkansas Republicans that Tea Party candidates will not win unless they join an established political party.

"Now the smart thing will be for independents who are such a part of this Tea Party movement to, I guess, kind of start picking a party," Palin said at an Arkansas GOP fundraising event Tuesday, according to CBS News.

"Which party reflects how that smaller, smarter government steps to be taken? Which party will best fit you? And then because the Tea Party movement is not a party, and we have a two-party system, they're going to have to pick a party and run one or the other: 'R' or 'D'."

The comments come 10 days after Palin addressed the so-called first ever Tea Party Convention in Nashville, where she praised the decentralized movement as consisting of "real people, not politicos, inside-the-beltway professionals."

"America is ready for another revolution and you are a part of this," Palin said at the Nashville speech.

Palin and her bosses at Fox News are trying desperately to control the Tea Party anger and funnel it into votes for Republicans. The problem is that Republicans are the ones who created the conditions that led to all of this anger in the first place. It's clear now that Palin is just a huge fraud who is working for the GOP to keep anything from really changing.

From what I have learned at the local level, the Tea Party will evaluate each candidate to determine how they stand vs the Tea Party core values. If the candidate meets the standards then they will receive Tea Party backing and votes. So Palin has "sort of" not completely understood exactly what is going on here.

Did she say two party system, like there are only two political parties allowed to compete? Why do her handlers allow her to open her mouth? How can someone prove every day that they are extremely ignorant and still remain a celebrity and perhaps a political candidate for president in this country? I'm baffled as to why people even pay attention to her. Talk about dumber than dirt!!

Is it only me? My brain hurts everytime I read anything this woman says. I try to make some sense of the garbage that spews out of her mouth but I can't. Please leave off the "g" at the end of her words!
    We will understand.
We mute that shrill screeching voice at home if we happen to be watching a news program and she comes on or, better yet, we changed to another station.
Somebody get me some aspirin and make it quick!!!

You are the best and i hope we elect a person with your great values and proven record in office in 2012, unlike the former community organizer turned media sensation who has proven to be a liar, fraud and poor excuse for a leader!

A new party is needed. The two existing parties are really a single party giving the perception of two parties to execute the puppet master's plan. True patriots will vote for the best candidate, not the lesser of two evils in hopes pf voting for a winner. It's time to impact the two party system.

She is right. Obama is out in 2012 no doubt BUT only if the GOP / Tea Party people pull together as one, which they now know they have too. As for who will run against Obama it wont matter because he is so awful a no named 10 year old could beat him at this point.

Would it still be a "revolution" if they took off their brown shirts and put their republican shirts back on? Oh, how I hope this woman is the gop nominee in 2012!

After seeing the poll results on who is in the tea party, there really is no chance they'll pick the big 'D' on the ballot. This really is a thinly veiled requested to stay inside the party and the status quo.

"America is ready for another revolution and you are a part of this"
Does that sound like treason to anyone else? The only other party that the Tea people would fit into, besides the embarrassing GOP, would be the Know Nothing Party, but they self destructed around 1856.
And Sarah, you are right about the Family Guy business. If you had any integrity, instead of just using this as self-promotion, you would resign from the very company that employs you as its' reactionary shill. Remember dear, if you lie down with FOX, you get up with fleas.

Now we see why Palin closes her speeches to the media. If you read her quotes, she can barely construct a complete sentence. Anybody who thinks this woman is public office material needs to have their head examined – really. All jokes and partisianship aside, Sarah Palin is NOT a candidate for ANY public office – okay? Now let's call her what she is – a political pimp who has found a way to prostitute politics and the media for her financial gain. All you have to do is see how her bank account keeps growing – and from what? Saying controversial things that are politically-related. Cha Ching! She's playing America for all it's worth. Why not? Everybody else does.

TeaPartiers/Republicans: Majority White Men from the South....check!
Constitution: Yells it, but rips it apart.....check!
    Racist/Anti-Immigration: Check!
    Pro-lifers: until you're born.......check!
Laughable that they have "elected" a woman as their first "Grand Wizard"

  20. Grassroots Conservative Tea Party + Las Vegas Convention = LOLz over Irony

Wow, way to try and use the Tea Party for republican votes. Like the Teap Party wasn't created by the GOP.

    I say TAKE 'EM.

Anyone who joins an organization that condemns wasteful spending and then turns around and holds expensive, extravegant conventions, for profit by the way, is a complete tool.

I have some extended warranties to sell you with that Tea Party DVD you just paid $20 for. Come by and see me, I'm an NRA member so you can trust me.

What a farce. They already have picked a party. Or perhaps it's more accurate to say that a party already picked them...ab initio, from the get-go. The only people fooled by this charade are those who were fooled into thinking the GOP wasn't behind the Teatards all along. It's political theater. They will now organize a massive show of moving to be in the GOP, all in an effort to convince other "independents" that it's the populist thing to do...that there's an upswell of fervent grass-roots conservatism in America despite the overwhelming evidence from November 2008 that these idiots are way outnumbered...just not out-enthused or out-shouted at the moment. The GOP couldn't have its elected members saying all the crap these Teatards say without losing face, so they created a splinter organization to say all the truly dirty stuff for them (think Hitler, Stalin, Nazis, concentration camps, blatant calls for bloody revolution, blatant lies like "death panels" etc.).

Sarah Palin is screwing up this country. I am a libertarian and I would like to nothing more than the two party system brought down. Vote for what you believe in and not for the lesser of two evils. Sure it may take a few years for another party to get established before it can get the majority of votes, but Sarah Palin wants you to vote for a republican becuase it is closest to what she believes. Didn't she learn from McCain/ Palin 2008.

    Republicans and Democrats:
    Same crap, different piles.

Republicans want to be your daddy
Democrats want to be your mommy
Libertarians treat you like an adult

Is she really that stupid? I mean first of all it's common knowledge that tea baggers support the right, they may not say it but it's part of their strategy to lure in independents. Second, why are you contradicting yourself ms. politico? Everyday that goes by is another IQ point she loses.
