Cheney and Cheney team up at CPAC

Dick Cheney made a surprise appearance Thursday at CPAC.
Dick Cheney made a surprise appearance Thursday at CPAC.

Washington (CNN) - Former Vice President Dick Cheney earned a standing ovation Thursday at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, proclaiming "Barack Obama is a one term president."

Cheney, who was not scheduled to appear, received a warm welcome from the unsuspecting crowd and joked, "A welcome like that is almost enough to make me want to run for office again ... but I'm not going to do it."

During his brief remarks, the former vice president focused on recent Republican electoral success and the future of the conservative movement.

"There are some great years ahead of us. It is very, very important that we succeeed, and I'll do everything I can, but most especially I want to encourage that younger generation," Cheney said. "It really is a remarkable time to be a conservative."

The former vice president was introduced by his daughter Liz Cheney, a former State Department official and founding member of the group Keep America Safe. Liz Cheney used her time at the podium to launch a series of biting critiques of Obama administration policies.

"In the year that President Obama has been in office we have learned a lot, haven't we?" Cheney asked the audience. "We've learned he is not going to govern from the center, we've learned he doesn't believe in American exceptionalism, and he is going to travel the world apologizing for this great nation."

Cheney also singled out Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Obama homeland security and counterterrorism adviser John Brennan over their handling of Al Qaeda in Yemen, saying "there is no polite way to put this, but that kind of incompetence gets people killed."

Given his recent barbs at BHO, we find it a sisyphean task to accord him a rousing welcome in our minds. He seems to spew a spate of vitriolic venom, in his soft voice, that belies its contents. He oughta be more diplomatic and responsible than that. His entire family appears to echo his feelings unfailingly.

I have always , and continue to believe that this man is dangerous. He sees himself as someone, all knowing and all seeing, and totally self absorbed. He thinks that only he knows how to handle the pressures of our world and then leads us directly into war from which he gained financially to a tremendous level. He is an EX Vice Pres. and should have faded into history long ago but his massive ego couldn't buy that, so he's back trying to run things again. I will agree with him on one thing. "incompetence gets people killed". We lost thousands of our fine young men in "his" Iraq war. That was his war. He bought it, we payed for it.

But sir, America had eight years of your policies. Eight years of Cheney/Bush. Why deny someone a similar number to screw things over like you had??

Hey, Cheney, "that kind of incompetence" just had TWO Taliban leaders ARRESTED. Remember the Taliban? Those guys you ignored so we could spend billions of dollars and thousands of lives in a pointless war in Iraq?

I'll take "that kind of incompetence" over your 8 years of FAILURE any day.

The Cheney's talk about how incompetence gets people killed, do they? Well, there certainly is much to learn from the masters in the knack of getting Americans killed through sleaze, a delusional perception of the world and breathtaking incompetence. The Cheneys believe that every world leader is hanging on their every word
which would really be news to world leaders-heck, even W finally got smart enough (everything being relative) to zone out whenever Cheney got snarling about some subject or another, like exposing and trying to get CIA agents killed.

CNN.... change your poll question and I bet you'll get totally different results.

Ask us if we're more or less SPIRITUAL than our parents.

Religion and Spirituality are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.

Religion was only brought about to keep people seperated and under control of the Religions they are suckered into.

And the Bible IS the 'Greatest STORY Ever Told'

Religions are just CULTS with more people.

If going to church makes you a christian, does going to the garage make you a car?

Can we deport this piece of pond scum? He is a sick minded man who will never stop attacking the President until you, the media, STOP GIVING HIM AIR AND PRINT TIME. Why don't you put this guy on a leash and "heel" him. He is absolutely out of control because the media allows his every word to be aired. He is on my "Most Hated" list along with many Fox talkers, Senators and Congressman.

As someone so aptly put it, "throw the bums out".

As for homeland security, a Bush/Cheney attempted appointee was just sentenced to prison for 4 years. Cheney called West Virginians inbred and said he could do it because he no longer needed their votes. Is governing from the center mean that you can tell an opposition party member to go f- himself in the halls of congress because he does not believe in your policy? Over 4 thousand Americans have been killed in Iraq but Cheney says Obama's incompetence will get people killed. Oh by the way, one of Cheney's bosses was a 1 term president.
