Washington (CNN) – Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and his wife are meeting with conservative bloggers Friday night for happy hour.
The meeting is sponsored by the Freedom First PAC, the governor's political action committee, a spokesman tells CNN.
Pawlenty, who spoke Friday morning before the Conservative Political Action Conference, is making an effort to meet with as many bloggers as possible. After his speech, the governor stopped by the blogging room and did interviews with several of the bloggers.
"While at CPAC the governor wants to meet as many leading conservatives," Pawlenty spokesman Alex Conant said. "That includes a lot of leading voices online."
Pawlenty has made a concerted effort to connect to online media. His PAC has hired well known Internet consultants Pat Hynes and Liz Mair to help coordinate blogger outreach and other digital strategy. When the PAC launched, one of their first moves was to have a blogger conference call.
So, at a bar near this annual conservative conference, a couple dozen bloggers will meet with the governor and first lady. "This is a fun way to meet a lot of leading and young conservative voices," Conant said.
Have anyone notice that these people do not call themselves "Christian" Conservatives anymore......Because they are everything BUT Christians
He needs to read this blog to see what people really think of him. I myself find him to a republican talking point poster. The man just look like he doesn't have a spine. He looks weak!!!
Funny that when President Obama sat down for a beer he was demonized by the Taliban (Fox) News hatemongers. Lets see if Pawlenty orders a communist beer....or how come he has time for a beer with his states economy in such a shambles. I want to hear the same outcry from Beck, Hannity and O'Reilly ....
That should be interesting – Hope they televise a bunch of drunk republicans stating how they REALLY feel about a black President.
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Hysterical....and I wasn't invited! hahaha...
What I really want to know is why we elected these people and what we are paying them for...
The country is in terrible shape, the economy is in the toilet, 2 wars going on, the big health care issues and everything else, and these people are having a convention to get themselves elected/reelected and the ones present that are in office now are being paid by us, the taxpayers to sit around and party at the convention instead of working on fixing what needs fixed in the country...
It is no wonder the country is in such sad shape, the politicians spend too much time pointing fingers and trying to get reelected instead of doing what they were elected to do in the first place.. why should my tax dollars that pay their salaries be spent for them to run all over the country and campaign for themselves or others... let the people campaign for themselves, they seem to feel they are best for their district/state, so why do they need outsiders to come in and help them convince the people of their district/state they are best suited to be elected when the person reccommending them isn't a local and doesn't really have a clue about the district/state or the people in ...
It is a waste of OUR time and OUR money...
We have over 200 million eligible voters in the USA. I can't get excited over 10 thousand people at a CPAC Conference.
OMG – seriously who cares?!?!
What is wrong with these CPAC people? What "freedoms" do they claim are being taken away from them? What do they mean by "we want our country back"? What exactly is THEIR agenda? That's what I would like to know. We know what Obama's agenda is and it is to bring us back to the greatness that we know America can be for all the people, not just the select few (Bush tax dodgers), But, exactly what these teabaggers want is elusive. I have a pretty good idea what they want – they just want to destroy Obama's chances of succeeding at anything that could make him look good. The man has more stamina than they want to give him credit for and he does still have the support of a very large majority of Americans committed to his success. Sorry, Repugs. Keep trying, though. It is still a "free" Country and we can't stop you from spreading the hate!!
CPAC speakers: a noun, a verb, & Barack Obama! These people are obsessed with Obama. Wow!
How do you intend to fix the economy? Barack Obama uses a teleprompter.
How are you going to fix health care? Barack Obama is Scolder n' Chief.
What are you going to do about jobs? Barack Obama has big ears.
Really people! Get a life!
This is a disgrace how the republicans are treated Obama.
And here is another one to be careful of.
It is very curious that many conservative politicians have these patriotic sounding political action committees.
Then once elected they rape and pillage the country while dragging the flag through the mud.
Getting back to power, no way. No one is going to forget that you and your cronies took this economy to the brink of collapse one year ago. Don't forget that.?
Governor, I know the ego trip you are currently undergoing. Realizing your aspirations are, by any stretch of the imagination, is a fantasy conjured up by you and your cronies, my candid comment is, " In your dreams."
Was Pawlenty drinking tea or scotch.
Let's take a look at the Governor's record: He's taken the state of Minnesota from having a financial surplus to having a $5 billion dollar deficit.
Attempted to cut social programs serving the poorest of his state's citizens -t hose with mental illness, homeless, the working poor with no insurance, etc...
He has proposed corporate and small business tax cuts even as his state struggles to keep services, state parks, schools, etc... afloat.
Yep! He's a conservative! Let those bridges fall and may God have mercy on your souls!
Maybe with a few drinks Pawlenty will make sense. Without he's nonsensical.
Tim Pawlenty actually believes he has a shot at the nomination in 2012. Ha! That's rich...but not as rich as Mitt Romney.
You'd have to be drunk to sit and listen to Republican garbage all day. CPAC is nothing but a hate fest for failed Republicans. All they have done for days is tell lies, repeat the same old rhetoric, and have not talked about ONE single ISSUE or how to SOLVE it.
Republicans are all hypocritical liars who can do nothing but criticize because they have no solutions, no new ideas, and are totally clueless to what is going in real America where the working People live. They are totally focused on serving their corporate buddies, insurance friends, and bank fraudsters.
Republicans have done NOTHING for America all year and have NO plans to do anything. They just go off on parties to Hawaii, hold useless meetings where they whine, lie. and drink. Now they want to get rid of medicare and Social Security! So who really cares about Grandma after all? Not Republicans. They are just contrary to be contrary.
For them Congress is just one big do-nothing job that pays them absurd salaries, gives them GOVERNMENT-RUN healthcare that none have given up because it is "socialist", and play golf like House Minority Leader Boehner to the tune of $85K in green fees. So glad they take their oath of office to SERVE us so seriously.
Republicans are ENEMIES of the People and we need to rid Congress of the negative do-nothings who work for corporations against us.
Party on T-Paw and celebrate the veto you just handed out for extending health benefits to the Poor Minnesotans. It will be interesting to see how much of the rest of America you can fool.
Governor Pawlenty is a genuine man and a solid leader. I do not understand how you people detest him so much. He has bipartisan connectivity and is perhaps the only hope for the GOP in 2012. He is also not just the "only" hope in a negative way but a positive way...in other words, he will make a great presidential candidate but the only one with real potential from the right. Mitt Romney is up there, too.
To whoever ranted about his "budget problems:" he is a Republican governor who does the unbelievably difficult job very well of checking the power of the incredibly left-leaning Minnesota state legislature. The budget problems are not just his but a result of a mini stalemate which exists there. However, he handles it on the state level much better than the Clinton gridlock was handled on the national level a few years ago.
So...he would be the ideal man to come in as the Executive with a super young, determined, crazed leftist Congress.
Hey, what's the difference between a CPAC happy hour get together and a Progressive liberals against America happy hour? The CPAC centrists drink beer and pay for it with their own money while the Progressive liberals smoke dope and drink beer and let the tax payer's pick up the tab...
Anyone know GI Joe's address, up in the air junior birdmen?
I hope someone slips him a mickey.
