Gingrich's warning

(CNN) - Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich warned the crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference Saturday that the left is "antithetical to the survival of America."

"I believe we are now in a struggle over whether or not we are going to save America," Gingrich said. "I believe the radical left is a secular, socialist machine so dedicated to values destructive of America that if it is allowed to remain in power…that machine is antithetical to the survival of America as a prosperous healthy country. "

  1. Liberalism is a Mental Disorder

The lefty libs (and their entitlement /reward failure and punish success mentality) is without question what is destroying america from the inside out and what has brought this once great country to the brink!

That type of language is just dangerous. Shame on him. It's ok to differ with the other party's ideas but you dont say they're trying to destroy America.

I'm scaring myself. The opening paragraph and I'm thinking, "What is with this? I actually agree with Newt. There really is some sick rot going on folks. Napolitano needs to be fired big time. She's a danger and in a way, makes Cheney totally sane. In fact, I'd be more inclined to believe Dick Cheney when it comes to national security than I would "Good Job Brownie" Part 2 Napolitano. I never thought the day would come when I seriously thought like that but spit happens when you are riding the wave of political insanity. It's time to get rid of Political Correctness, too.

More GOP doom and gloomy scare tactics! No mention that the former administration nearly sunk the economic ship or waged two wars completely off budget on money borrowed from China. What is antithetical to the survival of this country is more lies and falsehoods and hidden expenses and tax breaks for off-shore business and the most wealthy. What is happening in this administration is extreme methods necessary to thwart complete economic collapse, and oh yes, has anyone like Mr. Gingrich or Mr. Coulter bothered to mention that the economy is improving, and while still high, unemployment figures are improving, even though employment is usually the last thing to show improvement in a suffering economy. We are not afraid of your hell-fire and brimstone; you rabid right-ies are going to need to review the facts. There are some intelligent voters out there who won't drink the kool-aid.

Uh...Newt...were you stuck in a sound proof closet and blindfolded during the ENTIRE Bush presidency????

Because comments like, "I believe we are now in a struggle over whether or not we are going to save America," Gingrich said. "I believe the radical left is a secular, socialist machine so dedicated to values destructive of America..." Really makes one think you haven't paid ANY attention to the actions of your own party, like when they gave us the highest national debt in history, were spending like crazy or when they drove us into the biggest financial disaster since the Great Depression.

After thinking about that you've really gotta ask yourself, "WHO IS intent on ruining this country??" AND "What party has become so secular and radical??" Can you say REPUBLICANS???

Way to fan the flames, Newt. That's probably all the justification some Tea Party whacko needs to pick up his gun and start their own holy war against the "left." Disgusting comments. Ironically, as an independent I feel the only group dangerous to the survival or even progress of this country are those on the far right. God help us if these people con their way back to power. I think Newt must still be bitter about getting his butt handed to him by Jon Stewart.

What a joke. Conservatives have destroyed America. They are only for big business, no regulation, no taxes for the rich, war mongers, hate the middle and poor class of America.

People: The Bush tax cuts cost the Federal Government over $ 2 trillion dollars. Folks wake up.

We want Washington and our states to fis our problmes. At the same time, we want government to shrink, spend less, and reduce our taxes.

We are to blame for the political mess.....We are not informed and we listen to people like Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and Ann Coulter, and FOX News. They do not care about the middle folks.

    Please wake up.

    Healthy country?

Gingrich, what was your party doing from 2001-2008?

    1. Started 2 wars, one of which was based off of false intelligence (Great Britain is currently holding it's own Tony Blair for pushing this on their country). Neither of them were paid for.
    2. 2 tax cuts for the WEALTHIEST 2%, not the middle class or poor. Again, neither of them were paid for.
    3. Medicare prescription drug bill that was a boondoggle for the big pharma. This too wasn't paid for.
    4. Took Clinton's budget surplus (that the GOP first voted against in 1993) and turned it into 1.3 trillion in deficit
    5. Initiated the illegal act of torture, thereby breaking international and domestic law and reducing our standing in the world
    6. Did not oversee what Wall Street was doing (limited government)

And that is what's off the tip of most of America's head, which is why we voted accordingly in 2006 & 2008.

Gingrich, your part in this tale is over. Go home and prepare to pick your mouths off the floor yet again come November.

Gringrich is right... (no pun intended)... the Obama agenda is the greatest threat to America as we have known it, ever.

On the topic of health care "reform"...

Obama's health care plan could pass if it were a) more fair to seniors; b) covered only the "uninsurable" and c) denied as many services and procedures to non-viable babies as it does to terminally ill adults. Unfortunately, it does not address the baby issue, which is really central to the issue of controlling costs, and most importantly, if it were to make our legislators subject to the same bill as the average American, it would not be such a bitter pill to swallow. We know we are being skewered and we don't like it. If it is good enough for Joan the Plumber, it should be good enough for Pelosi, et al.

I find it humorous that when Gingrich, or most Republicans as a matter of fact, are interviewed by somebody like Jon Stewart(i.e. intelligent) that he(Gingrich) taps down his rhetoric because of how ridiculously silly these words sound when forced to be rational as opposed to bitterly partisan. If the values to which he's referring include everyone being afforded good health care in a country as bountiful as America, I guess I'm radical as well. What ultimately could actually destroy this country is the us vs. them(anybody not like Palin's "real" Americans) mentallity that the GOP is so ready to embrace. It boils down to bible-thumping hatred and bigotry and nothing could be more dangerous than these "values".

As usual, fanning the flames of partisanship.
When will the radical right get it – we're paying the MOST for our healthcare, in return we're ranked somewhere around 30th in what we get in return. But the idiots (i.e. far right and even barely to the right, can't seem to get that). We will SAVE money with health reform, why don't you tune into what the CBO says instead of the Rush's, Newt's and Sarah's say.

With the Bush/Cheney tragedy, the right almost pushed the left to revolt BIG-TIME, so Newt, you ask for it, you just might get it this time.

We are in a battle to save America alright, but it is these crazy conservatives that are bringing us down. Progressive ideas are what made this country great in the first place and only progressive ideas will save it from these Neanderthals.

Newt, not every Liberal is a secular, socialist! I am a Christian, have been all my life!

Save America??! How will the conservatives save America? Please give some specifics?

George W. Bush, did his best to destroy the Middle Class. While he was president the average Middle Class family LOST $1500 in income while the wealthiest 1% gained wealth!

How about the Republican controlled Congress of 1994-2006? You folks DE-regulated Wall Street which led to the Disaster of 2008!

"Values destructive to America"??? SO.... Americans NEED YOUR VALUES? Conservative values should be shoved down our throats?!

What IS Christian about TORTURE? What IS Christian about DENYING MILLIONS OF AMERICANS HEALTHCARE? What IS Christian about attacking Iraq??

    Your values? NO THANKS!

"Survival of America" and "properous" are words I always use when thinking or speaking of my country's plight today.
We are exactly where Russia was at the beginning of the twentieth century, when they shot the Czar and his family, choosing the seductive but evil path of Communism. Let none of us forget what that "Change" did to Russia until the folly of that economic system manifested as misery for all except the government leaders.

Newt is a primary example of what is wrong with America today. Without doubt he was the beginning of the extreme polarization that began when he took over the House. The problem with Republicans is their denial that Democrats are also good Americans. Republicans may feel they have a good chance in the elections this fall and maybe they do, but eventually, if they don't stop the polarization, the backlash against their party by Independents and ALL minority groups will be so dramatic that Democrats will be seen as the moderate party and the Republican Party will be marginalized. I am glad that Democrats often disagree with each other; it seems to make them appear more human. Republican politicians are beginning to act like programmed robots.

Let me re-introduce you to Mr. Norquist, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich's right hand in the mid-1990s:
"My goal is to cut government in half in twenty-five years," he says, "to get it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub."

Yep, he said drown it in the bathtub. Pretty much ahead of schedule, don't you think?

Newt as always is correct. The Obama/Pelosi liberal/progressive plan and agenda will leave America broke and broken, not prosperous.
You have to go no farther than the 10 year forecast of Obama's new budget. This 10 year forecast is in fact worse than the perevious 10 year forecast from his first budget.
Obama's new budget includes a new 300 billion in spending, on top of the 300 billion increase in his first budget. That is an increase in 600 billion of spending over Bush's last budget.
All of this spending is supposed to usher in a new incredible America, more prosperous than ever before. Obama's 862 billion stimulus of borrowed money is also supposed to do it's part in building this future prosperous nation.
The new forecast based on Obama's new budget assumes health care reform and cap and trade are passed, and includes the stimulus spending. The forecast assumes economic growth for every year between now and 2020, no more recessions.
The results are average deficts of 1 trillion for the next 10 years with a 2020 deficit in excess of 1 trillion. One can correctly assume 2021, 2022 and future years will not be much better or perhaps even worse.
Obama's promise of a grand America more prosperous than ever before never happens. In fact the forecasts of Obama's plan lead to a bankrupt America and an economy that will collapse under a mountain of debt, probabley before we can even get to 2020.
Obama has appointed a bipartisan commission to make recommendations on how to reduce the deficits. This did not happen until voter anger could no longer be denied and Brown won in Mass.
This should have been done as soon as Obama took office and was staring down the trillion dollar deficit he constantly complains he inherited.
Instead he mocked Tea Party protesters for being concerned about the defiicts and said he would be happy to debate them on the subject and told Republicans to shut up when they raised concernes also. Since he took office, Obama has increased budget spending by 600 billion, passed a 862 billion stimulus that is loaded with hundreds of billions of spending that does not stimulate, has pushed the job killing/economy choking cap and trade, and is pushing a trillion dollare big government take over of health care. All before he gave any serious thought to the huge deficits all this spending was creating.
Even now Obama refuses to give up on the massive health care reform bills or cap and trade.
I have no delusion he is serious about the deficits that will destroy America as we know it.
