Gingrich's warning

(CNN) - Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich warned the crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference Saturday that the left is "antithetical to the survival of America."

"I believe we are now in a struggle over whether or not we are going to save America," Gingrich said. "I believe the radical left is a secular, socialist machine so dedicated to values destructive of America that if it is allowed to remain in power…that machine is antithetical to the survival of America as a prosperous healthy country. "

More of Gingrich's speech after the jump:

Newt's correct. Look at what the left has done in the past: enforced illegal wiretapping, lied to the American people to wage war and thereby sending most of America's much needed resources and funds out of the country, gave the finger to the international community, basically shredded the U.S. Constitution, sat back and watched Americans suffer and die after Katrina and fired people (attorneys) based on nothing more than political affiliation. He's correct, those anti-American lefties. Oh wait....

"If it is allowed to remain in power"?

Newt's just another right-winger advocating over-throwing the government because a majority of people did not want his party in power. Hey Newt, you resigned your Congressional seat in shame, remember? You're not done atoning yet.

This man is telling the TRUTH.

Example: Do you really think that Obama and his people are too stupid to fix the economy? I think not. They are implementing destructive policies that are sucking the life out of this country and we are just sitting by. We need to see (as a country) that we have been who-dood and get this bunch out of office ASAP.

    Wake up America!!

Can it get any less patriotic than that? To accuse Americans of not caring about this nation's survival simply because we disagree on how best to protect our interests, our goals, our futures and our personal freedoms? I mean, seriously... what would he want to do? Put those who disagree with the CPACkers and Teabaggers in interment camps? This is as appalling as it is disgusting.

In the opinion of many Americans today, the "right" is anti-thetical to the survival of America because it values its own survival more than the success of the country itself. It has done everything it can to de-legitimize this president during a time of national crisis, and undermined every piece of legislation that has come before Congress, voting against bills which its own members have sponsored just because the President supports them. The conservative movement in the United States has become toxic to the welfare of anyone who isn't wealthy. Gingrich knows better than this. Between the birthers, bigots, gun-freaks, homophobes, anti-intellectuals and professional liars in its ranks, the conservative movement is in a state of self-destructive, ideological warfare with the people who want this country to move forward instead of backward. In that context, Newt Gingrich has chosen to call more than half of his fellow Americans unAmerican. This sounds disturbingly familiar.

How can so many otherwise ration, intelligent Americans fall for such a stupid and ridiculous movement that is the Republican Party? Why do people have to get their "news and information" from sources that have to shout, lie, and cry to get attention?

The Republican Party is full of very sick people and they're taking millions of good people down with them.

I can't imagin how their parents can be teaching them to be so disrespectful to our country and president. What a shame.Reminds me of Natzi germany in the 30's Scary bunch of people.

Nothing like good old Klan meeting to rally up the troops of scared white people who fear the annihilation of the all things white.....ie: The White House, the white power structure, and white people as a whole. These people should have held this rally in the cave. Why they are so evil and hateful I don't know. I just think God, that their rule and domination is coming to an end.

The neo-cons and the far-right are the reason we're in this mess. The greed of capitalism and the failures of the Bush administration nearly collapsed our economy. Why should we listen to anything this idiot has to say? He's a hypocrite, like 99% of the Republican party.

Yep, and the secularism started with James Madison and the first words of the First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..."

The US doesn't have an official religion, and it would be difficult to be officially religious without an official religion. If you disagree, you HATE America.

Gingrich still trying to lead using fear and making up stuff. I have seen this guy get nailed dead to rights for lying on Sunday morning news shows. The latest one was for saying there was "death panel" stuff in the health care bill, remember when that false info was going around, and he got called on it as there was nothing in any versions of the health care bill on the table at the time... and I loved his response which was to go totally blank and be speechless... priceless.

I am sure the left thinks the right wing of the Republican party would involve this country in any and every conflict on the globe and while doing so would give the wealthiest American more tax cuts.

You will chew up your children in armed conflicts while the scoundrels wrap themselves on the flag.

Bush was an ideologue and so is the right wing of the Republican party What the right wing wants is a military state run by big corporations.

These speeches remind me of Pat Buchanan's' small tent speech at the 1992 Republican conventions. Fear and Loathing.

I really think these guys are spending to much time talking to each other and reinforcing there small minded thinking.

This group is out of touch to the needs of the American people who pay there taxes and send their kids off to fight this miserable wars.

Heath care scares them. A just tax burden scares them. The defects they created under eight years of Bush should have scared them.

Where were these deficit heroes then?

Put a black man in the oval office and you can see the Klan hoods come out. Shame on you. Your a bunch of tired toothless old .....

You don't have the votes just the rhetoric of hate and fear.

Stop politicking and get to work making this a better country.

The country club congress of George Bush terms was not real. You have work to do and the Democrats are way ahead of you on bringing better solutions forward. Stop crying and get to work or you will loose your jobs in the fall.

What? The Republican party is the only party and if things are not done their way then America is going to fall apart? Isnt America already in trouble and were the Republicans not the party of the past 8 years?

The Republicans need to get a clear message and so do the democrats. We are all Americans and this type of rhetoric resembles that of Benedict Arnold. Those of us who did not vote for Bush respected the due process of our country, I suggest these radical traitors and their teabaggers end their orgy and start acting like Americans. The Republicans are sounding much like the Nazi's during Hitlers rise to power. These words and the collusion of the Republicans with the teabaggers is a not good for this country. These two groups are saying clearly, if you do not believe what we believe then you are wrong and that, in its essence, is how things are done in Russia, Cuba, and China. We are Americans, not slaves to Cuba and the Republican totalitarian ideology.

If the left is so bad for America, why is it that budgets get balanced, wars end, American people are taken care of, and tax rates are manageable, all under the Democrats? The Republicans talk a really good game, but have no idea how to govern. Leadership is not blaming the other party for the end of the world. It is not getting us into unfunded, unnecessary wars. It is not voting for tax cuts and also voting for massive pork packages for their own states. Leadership does not rely on lies about 'socialism' to herd the sheep into place. Leadership does not need assault-rifle carrying "patriots" to do its dirty work, nor a paid assassin team like Blackwater. Leadership is making tough, unpopular decision, and giving policies time to work. Leadership is realizing that America is part of the world, and that we need allies. Leadership is working to end war and nuclear arms, not threatening other countries and isolating ourselves. Leadership is hard work, which is why Republicans are always after the easy way: blame the other party for everything.

He's right! The left is so screwed up that they are willing to flush our country down the toilet if it gives them the power they so desperately seek. The country made a mistake trusting and "believing" in the "hope and change" crap Oblahblah kept preaching. I remember the INEPT one saying "you got conned...you got lied to...." the country
won't listen to a fruitcake like Oblahblah ever again!
