Fiorina web ad causing controversy, again

A new Web ad from Carly Fiorina’s senatorial campaign is drawing heat Monday.
A new Web ad from Carly Fiorina’s senatorial campaign is drawing heat Monday.

Los Angeles (CNN) - It's another day, another controversial Web ad from California Republican Senate candidate Carly Fiorina.

Fiorina, who hopes to unseat Sen. Barbara Boxer this fall if she can emerge from a tight three-way Republican primary, has started running a new Web ad that uses the face of newly-elected Sen. Scott Brown. In the ad, a caption accompanying Brown's image reads: "Thank You Massachusetts. Now on to California. Join the Path to Victory."

But Fiorina's GOP rivals - former Rep. Tom Campbell and Assemblyman Chuck DeVore - say the ad falsely implies that Brown has endorsed Fiorina.

Campbell new media consultant Patrick Ruffini claimed that Fiorina is exploiting Brown, who became a hero to Republicans when he defeated Democrat Martha Coakley in a special election in January. "I don't know if she's claiming an endorsement, but that's up there in the Scott Brown exploitation sweepstakes," Ruffini tweeted on Saturday.

Joshua Trevino, communications director for DeVore, called the ad "deceptive and misleading".

Fiorina spokeswoman Julie Soderlund brushed off the charges and told CNN that "the ad in no way implies an endorsement."

It's unclear what kind of impact the ad will have on the race, but whatever happens, it's unlikely to make the same kind of splash as Fiorina's recent Web video attacking Campbell as big-spending wolf in sheep's clothing. That ad quickly went viral - largely due to its trippy depiction of so-called "demon sheep."

Fiorina is showing that she is not competent for the senatorial job. She should not tout her experience in Silicon Valley. Don't forget, she was fired by the governing board of HP.

Ummm...he is a Republican too, isn't he? This is like dropping the soap in prison and then acting suprised when you end up with your end up.

What are these guys complaining about? All Republican ads are deceptive and misleading. Since when haven't they used lies and distortions to win elections? They have been doing this since I can remember. So why complain now guys. It's your way of doing things. Whether the ad is for or against a candidate, it is usually untrue, twisted and hateful. That's just how these guys roll.

I am voting for Boxer. I see what is crawling out of the GOP = Tea Party. I don't want to vote for Box, if there is another D, I would vote for that person, but it is looking like Box.

Everytime I hear one of this moron's ridiculous ads on the radio I immediately change the station. Barbara Boxer is very popular, much more than Dianne Fienstein and will defeat Fiorina or any Republican challenger in the general election. It's laughable how the GOP thinks that it's going to be 1994 all over again and re take congress. Yes the Democrats will lose a few seats but not enough to hand congress back to the party of homophobia, racism and sexism. But good luck idiots, maybe in about 10 years! LOLOLK

Much damage was done by this woman at Lucent; she screwed up HP. Can one really use a goat, instead of a bull or a horse, for plowing? What a joke!!!

This woman is bizarre ... and apparently a lousy businesswoman, too.

She should run as a Republican senate candidate and people will dump her like a rock falling from the orbit. She screwed up HP and was instrumental in John McCain's failure (of course I was never a fan of McCain either).

From the great State that brought us Nancy Pelosi! All I can say is Boxer has done such a wonderful job for all you libtard's in California, let's see $20 billion in debt and how many illegals was that in your State now on State funded hand-outs. Vote Boxer back in, go for it, because the rest of America will soon be refusing to pay your bills for you.

Carly Fiorina has a reputation in the IT industry: Pure poison. She turned to politics when there was no-one left in the business community who would touch her with a ten-foot cattle prod.
Dear GOP: Surely you could have come up with something better than this . . . thing?

Carly Fiorina is only in the race to make Meg Whitman's farcical candidacy for Governor look remotely credible.

It is very telling that a person who has demonstrated over and over how incompetent she is, can be in a "tight three-way race" for nomination. We want to talk about "broken government"? Let's start talking about "broken electorate"....

The very skills that made Carly Fiorina a good CEO makes her a poor candidate for the USSenate. She is decisive on issues that require a light touch in politics. She doesn't compromise much-hence her being forced out of HP.In the Senate ,Compromise is the name of the game. If she's elected California will suffer for 6yrs.
