DNC charges GOP hypocrisy in Web video

The DNC is out with a new Web video attacking Republicans who took stimulus funding.
The DNC is out with a new Web video attacking Republicans who took stimulus funding.

Washington (CNN) - The Democratic National Committee released a Web video Wednesday calling some Republicans "Highway Hypocrites."

The video is part of a concerted effort by Democrats to highlight Republicans who voted against the bill while then promoting Stimulus funds in their districts.

The latest itineration targets Rep. Mike Castle of Delaware and Sen. Sam Brownback of Kansas.

The video also takes a swipe at Minnesota Gov. and potential 2012 hopeful Tim Pawlenty – who is not a member of Congress and did not vote against the funds but has criticized the bill.

Stimulus funds have become a favorite source of political fodder for both the RNC and DNC, who both released videos on the topic last week.

    Nothing new here.

The Republican machine is full of hypocrites. Not to mention liars, degenerates, obstructionists and selfish old coots.

Oh yes there are a couple of younger ones like Pawlenty who are all of the above plus mean spirited and quite stupid.

Glad to see the Dems. calling them out on it.

This November, voters will remove the perpetrators of the bailout, porkulus and Cash for Clunkers.

    RE-ELECT NO ONE!
    Incumbent Dump 2010

We *WILL* prune this federal government leviathan BACK to its Constitutionally-intended and Constitutionally-allowed size.
This will happen as surely as day follows night. Set your clock by it.

By this line of reasoning, I suppose Democrats who opposed the Bush tax cuts are hypocrites for accepting the benefits of those cuts. Now would be an excellent time to mail in the checks, the Treasury is having a tough time keeping up with the Democrats' wild spending spree. Come on, liberals, you're patriots, aren't you? Aren't you?

Wow, good job DNC It's about time we hit'em back!!! Keep up the fight and keep exposing the hypocrites, especially since this party (the GOP) enjoys NOISE over FACTS. This is a good way of silencing the Noise and stating the facts. "FACTS over FICTION works best every time. I think I love the DNC-My Party for ever.

DNC criticizing someone for hypocrisy????????????????ROFL. The most hypocritical, corrupt organization in America, controlled by corrupt union bosses and trial lawyers actually has the unmitigated gall to criticize someone. This is too funny.

I dare any of them to try to turn down the stimulus money they rail so loudly against. Their constituents, many of whom are unemployed and in desperate need of assistance, would run them out of town!

Web videos are nice but this republican hypocrisy needs to be seen by the vast majority of Americans, not just by democratic supporters, who are already aware of the hypocrisy.

The GOP should be used to being hypocrites by now. They used Reconcilliation to pass the Bush tax cuts and Medicare Part D...which costs us over $2 Trillion. In fact, 14 of the 19 times fillibusters were used from 1981 to 2005, it was done by Republicans.

You can be against the stimulus bill and still fight to get the dollars. Once the bill was passed, it is the job of all in office to get as much as possible for their states considering that the stimulus is their constituents tax money! That is not hypocrisy, that is called taking advantage of a stupid decision by Dems in the form of a wasteful stimulus bill!

Yea, well, the RepubliCAN'Ts argument for taking the funds is that "it's the taxpayers money and whether or not we agreed with the stimulus – we still have DIBS on the CASH..."

Well – WRONG – if you are that much AGAINST it – showing more strength would be to leave it alone – not TAKE IT!!!

YOU are HYPOCRITES!!! The party of No has No Sense, No Suggestions, No Solutions and NO Business taking that stimulus money!!!!

As a Minnesota resident, I can tell you that Tim Pawlenty is a scumbag. Last weekend, in a speech to that big conservative group, he stated that Barack Obama used a teleprompter when he spoke to school children. Luckily, one of our local TV stations has a spot called Reality Check, and they called Pawlenty out on the lie and said it was completely false! He's the kind of person who should not be in public office, as he cannot represent the common man. He loves to cater to big business and the wealthiest citizens.

  22. How To Tell A Dem Is Lying-Lips Are Moving

DEMOCRATS HAVE GOT TO BE THE MOST IGNORANT ANIMAL ON THE PLANET.The funds were to be paid back regardless if you used them or not.If you must repay then use them. What moron could not understand that.

This is what Dems call a counter attack? "Highway hypocrisy".
Good luck with that one catching on. "H's" are phonetically weak. And the phrase has too many syllables. It lacks "gut" reaction.

W was an idiot leader who ruined this country, but he won with a visceral phrase, "Flip Flopper". Until the Dems can match that, they are a lost cause.

I cant' say that only the Republicans are the hypocrites, but they sure due try harder at it! Any moderately intelligent person can see the Republican strategy here.. Tell the angry mob that the Democrats did this to them.. that Obama is the one who got you fired and didn't go out and find you a new job! We the people are to blame for this mess.. it is our society that emphasizes the need to consume needless products to keep our society afloat! We call our president names like.. socialist.. or communist, but we don't realize that without elements of socialism we wouldn't have a military or a public school system or police or fire fighters.. etc.! If you look at the tag on your clothes or your computer screen that you are looking at, it says "MADE IN CHINA"! Guess what.. THEY ARE COMMUNISTS!! But we don't have a problem buying all of our products from them because MONEY RULES!! If we are really against communism then we shouldn't buy our products from communist countries! We make ourselves look like fools screaming about freedom and less government in our lives, but we want to tell other Americans how to live if we don't agree with their religion or political affiliation! We can easily stray from our own values and morals for money! It is up to the citizens of this country to forge their own destiny and not rely on the Government to give us jobs!
