Washington (CNN) - Sen. John McCain's campaign released a Web video Wednesday linking challenger J.D.Hayworth to prominent "birthers" Orly Taitz and Phil Berg.
The McCain video features comments from Taitz, Berg and Haworth in succession that question President Obama's citizenship. The narrator then asks, "What's the difference between these people? Only one is running for the U.S. Senate."
J.D. Hayworth, a talk-show host and former Arizona congressman, raised questions about President Obama's citizenship in an interview with CNN's Campbell Brown earlier this month.
Hayworth, who has billed himself as the "consistent conservative," later disavowed those comments and said, "I believe that Barack Obama is an American citizen," and "Barack Obama is the President of the United States."

Duality, duality, duality....
Student loans both State and Federal, did he receive under the guise of a foreign student, one simple question?
It is now a moot point however when we are all privileged to see the true history of Barry's climb to the Presidency (school records), I have the feeling we will all be wishing for a little better vetting process.
Let's get something straight, Obama may meet all of the qualifications to be president, but he's not qualified to be president. We said it repeatedly before the election, and have been repeatedly proven right since the election.
On Mccain's part this is like the kettle calling the pot black. He seems to forget that his certified birth certificate from Colon Panama is all over the internet on at list 5 million websites.
Orly, very bad drag!
How about you guys at CNN do some real reporting for a change rather than just basic cut/paste from campaigns? We have some serious serious proof that McCain is senile and suffering from dementia and in need of serious help:
For example, just yesterday McCain said the following in an interview with the Arizona Republic:
1) McCain said he only voted for TARP because Paulson and Bernanke lied to him and told him the bailout money was for homeowners not banks, when he has literally dozens of statements on the record saying that he supported bailing out banks.
2) McCain said that while he suspended his campaign, so did Obama. Anyone with half a brain will recall that Obama made it crystal clear that he was NOT suspending his campaign and that "a President has to be able to do 2 things at the same time". It was only 16 months ago. Memories of things that never happened is called "PARAMNESIA" and it is a serious psychological problem. This guy should be seeking professional help, not an 8th term in the senate
3) McCain said that Bush called him on the campaign trail and asked him to suspend his presidential campaign. Bush's spokespeople and everyone else involved with the bailout, mostly Republicans, have said on the record that McCain is absolutely off his rocker and nothing of the sort happened. McCain tried a blatantly political risky move and got killed for it, rightfully so.
This guy forgets things that happened 5 minutes ago. It's really sad to see McCain turn into an angry bitter spiteful little man who only thinks about how he is going to get on the teevee and has forgotten that he is in office to serve America and the good people of Arizona, not himself.
Hayworth only has to run a pix of Sarah Palin, with the caption, "Gee thanks McCain". Easey peasey.
Boy, The Repukes in Arizona have a great choice. An old man who thought a bimbo with the IQ of a rock would make a good VP, and a complete head case.
The same people that think Obama was not born in America are just as ridiculous as the the fools that believe 9/11 was a government plot and that McCarthy was key in the HUAC proceedings.....
The birthers are among the stupidest people on planet earth, right next to creationists.
The full text of Mr. Hayworth's statement was:
"Barack Obama is the President of the United States. However, the Earth is flat and the sun revolves around it."
People, especially those who are running for elected office, must learn that they cannot say one nasty thing and then retract and apologize! Questioning the President's birth was bad enough last year ... but one month ago?? One statement or the other is a LIE!
Birthers are foolish people who chose not to believe the facts ... and they would still babble on – even if they had been in the delivery room in Hawaii ... such is their narrow minded hatred.
Glenn Beck is a birther. Those people are nuts!
Just a bunch of republican nuts.
Birthers are idiot, racist pinheads!
The comments made by Hayworth constitute the definition of a "FLIP FLOP". It simply proves that a politician will say anything to get elected. What is said all depends on the situation at the time so as to serve the interest of the politician and that goes for Democrats and Republicans.
I guess McCain wants to stay senator trying to be on the coattails of Obama. He may have never questioned his citizenship but he surely don't want to help him get anything passed. How ironic.
If McCain doesn't care enough about finding the truth to search for it, and only wants to perpetuate the political game, he is way past due being voted out of office.
McCain is absolutely right on this one. I will give him his due during the campaign he did put that stupid woman straight over saying dumb stuff about then candidate Obama. I just wish he would do what he said he would do after the election and that was to work with this president!! Haven't any of that yet! But JD Hayworth is a complete moron.
Where were the GOP = Tea Party = Republicans during the Bush years. Why were they sitting on the sidelines and not saying a single word when this mess was being created? NOW, they want to cry and moan that we have a President willing to do something. Teabaggers, go back to bed.
I also believe that Barack Obama is an American citizen. I just don't believe he was born here.
But John, Sarah ism a birther!
McCain get over it. You are such a cry baby. You are so two faced that you will do anything to get this man to quit so you can win. I hope the voters teach you a lesson that you don't talk smack and then suck eggs.
I hate to be the one to tell these birthers but...Elvis is really dead...!
How ironic McCain is now defending Obama in order to save his own behind.
LOL – The fight among the Repubs.... this is great!!! Almost ALL RepubliCAN'Ts questioned President Obama's Citizenship.... NOW, they are using it against each other to prove a point.... President Obama is a Citizen!!! This is good!!!
