Washington (CNN) – Rep. Charles Rangel, D-New York, will be formally admonished Friday by the House Ethics Committee, he told reporters Thursday.
The issue concerns who paid for travel he and several other members of the Congressional Black Caucus took to the Caribbean in 2007 and 2008.
The powerful chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee told CNN that the ethics committee had approved the travel.

Rangel is a tax evader and a crooked politician. Regardless of what a Republican Governor did any politician should not try to duck paying taxes and Rangel has been doing it for years. Regardless of party all elected officials should be held to the same standards as the Americans they represent. This is not a partisan issue it is an ethics issue and any politician whose behavior does not befit the office he/she holds should be removed from office– regardless of party. But it is always the Democrats who basically are allowed to be immoral who continue to stay in office (DODD< FRANK and Rangel) and if there are more be they Republican or Democrat they should be removed.
(This is a good spot to point out the difference between Repugnants and the rest of us. The wing nut party will rail against Rangel in this slot, but so will progressives. That's because progressives want clean government, while Repugnants want control.)
Sounds like Rangel did something underhanded, for which he should be reprimanded. I'm all for that. Now, will the Justice Dept. please indict Bush and Cheney for war crimes? I think that's a bit more important!
