Washington (CNN) – Rep. Charles Rangel, D-New York, will be formally admonished Friday by the House Ethics Committee, he told reporters Thursday.

The issue concerns who paid for travel he and several other members of the Congressional Black Caucus took to the Caribbean in 2007 and 2008.

The powerful chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee told CNN that the ethics committee had approved the travel.

The man has been lining his own pockets with DC money for over 20 years so he knows how to side step a few land mines so he doesn't get caught. But the Democratic leadership should take his chairmanship away just based on the heat he brings himself and the controversy that starts with the simple mention of HIS NAME!!!!!

They have investigated Rangel / Black Caucus for 3 years, and waisted time and money, only to come up with this wafer thin infraction. On a scale of 1 – 10, this is like a negative 2 in the naughty column!
That sounds like a great job, sit around, do nothing, show zero results, and get paid by the US tax payers, where do I sign up...

Rangel is a tax evader and a crooked politician. Regardless of what a Republican Governor did any politician should not try to duck paying taxes and Rangel has been doing it for years. Regardless of party all elected officials should be held to the same standards as the Americans they represent. This is not a partisan issue it is an ethics issue and any politician whose behavior does not befit the office he/she holds should be removed from office– regardless of party. But it is always the Democrats who basically are allowed to be immoral who continue to stay in office (DODD< FRANK and Rangel) and if there are more be they Republican or Democrat they should be removed.

(This is a good spot to point out the difference between Repugnants and the rest of us. The wing nut party will rail against Rangel in this slot, but so will progressives. That's because progressives want clean government, while Repugnants want control.)

Sounds like Rangel did something underhanded, for which he should be reprimanded. I'm all for that. Now, will the Justice Dept. please indict Bush and Cheney for war crimes? I think that's a bit more important!

Unreal. Rangel is the biggest liar and thug in Washington. They should be booting him out but no, he is after all, a Democrat. And don't get me wrong, the Republicans are not much better. I seriously hate the system we now have in Washington.

And yet Pelosi will keep Rangel on his committiee instead of doing the proper thing and remove this crook. He ought to be in jail!
Just more your Democrats in action folks.

What a slimeball, but typical liberal, blame it on someone else rather than take responsibility. Next will come that its racial and Bush's fault. Crooked, liberal slimeballs. The are all alike, that is why Americans distrust them so much, but as you can see by this story, they still don't get it.

    And the lesson here, kids:

If it's a democrat behaving in a confirmed, grossly unethical manner, it's buried in the back section of the liberal media.

If it's a unconfirmed report about a possible wrongdoing by a republican, it's front page news.

    Bias? What liberal bias?
