Sarah Palin and Laura Bush will cross paths at an event in June.

(CNN) - Laura Bush and Sarah Palin have rarely crossed paths, but the two will appear at the same North Carolina forum this June.

Bush and Palin are the featured speakers at the Blueridge Educational Resource Group "Women's Expo" on June 5 in Charlotte, the group confirms. Bush, the former first lady, will speak at 1 p.m. ET following a VIP luncheon while Palin will address the crowd at 4 p.m. ET. The former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee will also hold a book signing for the first 75 people who purchase the $300-a-piece tickets.

The group says a portion of the proceeds will go to the Victory Junction Gang, a camp for chronically ill children in North Carolina.

Blueridge Educational Resource Group describes itself as a non-profit corporation "whose purpose is to affect the issues that plague our society such as poverty, drug abuse, and teen pregnancy in a positive manner using every means possible."

The two worst possible people are going to speak at a women's forum. Idiotic.

I'd rather give the $300 to the kid's group than have to listen to the hate and propaganda that Palin spews.

Laura – your values have slipped – palling around with a wing-nut. Shame shame.

Wow, this ought to set women's rights back about a hundred years or so. Laura Bush seems nice enough, but isn't exactly a role model for modern women since she hasn't accomplished much without depending on her husband. And Sarah Palin is a complete idiot and sociopath who's a symbol of corruption, and can't even carry a job through without quitting under pressure! How embarrassing for that forum that they ended up with these two... especially Palin! Who organized this?

Laura Bush and Sarah Palin – what a perfect pair. One reads childrens books and the other one doesn't read at all.

Hope she go to night school before then. She may need to be a back sit driver for this one.

At least the former First Lady used to be a teacher and actually belongs at this event. I'm not too sure if Palin ever graduated from high school. Can someone provide me a copy of her diploma or GED.

I cannot believe that the most honorable, and classy Former First Lady Laura Bush would get anywhere near a podium shared by that ditsy hack Palin!
She (Palin) is a scourge to women everywhere.
She is just a one trick pony, with no heart for leadership.

A smart Republican said something like this about Palin, if only Palin's ability to energize could be transferred into someone with a brain. I totally agree with this Repulican because that's exactly what so many people think of her. Palin is more of an embarrassment than she is attractive.

You know, it sure is getting easier to tell the right-wing chistian racist nut-job organizations from the legitimate ones these days.

Palin the Cash Cow.... does she do anything now if money is not involved?

What's she gonna speak on? How women can quit a job and whine endlessly about the nasty media?

They made a great pick to have Laura Bush speak great points for that but then they lost all their points by having Palin the dumbest woman to speak with her.......I would have paid the $300 to hear Laura Bush but you would have to pay me a lot more than $300 to hear Palin speak......

Sarah should be a true conservative and take her place as stay-home-mom like Laura Bush. That is the conservative message.

Finally, we'll hear from two women who are well-read, dignified and truly care about Americans. We need to replace the lying liberals in Congress.

Good... The country needs to be educated.

However I'm still pi*sed at Palin for supporting McCain. McCain started playing politics and not just staying to his heart.

Quit playing politics for votes John.

Talk about the meeting of the Lady (Laura Bush) and the tramp. I really do like Laura but Palin, well she marches to the beat of a different drum and only she hears the drummer. Palin go home.

Personally I wish Laura Bush would skip being anywhere near Palin, but being the very gracious person she is , it will all be fine , And you do not have to lower your standards to listen to Palin....she does not have the class of Laura Bush , it is something you are born with and Palin is sadly lacking in that department. Dollar signs is what she sees and uses her deluded followers to get rich..

Congrats to Laura – think the world of her.

Confused on the Sarah pick – what types of values does she represent (putting aside the Republican and for that matter the Democrat talking positions) she has quit every single thing she has done in her life and has one of the most dysfunctional family life ever shown since "Roseanne" aired.

I guess it is all about "being famous" with the Palin pick.

Palin will make a great president in 2012! She has all the qualifications. Anyone who disagrees, is simply not fully accepting of her capabilities. Yep! She sure will make a great President of NotMensa!
