(CNN) – Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is weighing in on the California gubernatorial race, announcing Monday she is backing former eBay CEO Meg Whitman's bid for the GOP nomination.
"California is my home and there is only one person running for Governor who can lead the way toward rebuilding our state," Rice said in a statement provided by the Whitman campaign. "In my experiences in and out of government, I find the most effective leaders to be those who maintain a clear vision, mobilize diverse groups, and inspire them to work together in confronting the most pressing challenges.
Rice, the former Secretary of State and National Security Advisor under President Bush, is currently a professor of political science at Stanford University.
Whitman is battling state insurance commissioner Steve Poizner for the Republican party's nomination. A poll conducted late last month showed the former eBay chief with a 17-point over Poizner with nearly 4 in 10 Republican primary voters undecided. The primary is set for June 8.

What in rice's resume would ever lead to the conclusion that she is "smart?" Her dissertation was roundly panned as shoddy at best. Oddly – the critique was that she started from a foregon conclusion and then cherry picked evidence to fit and ignored everyting else. Sound familiar?

We should take Rice's word for what reason? I really have trouble with these people that come out of Corporate America and claim they can lead. That won't work in government when you are across the table with legislators that the people have elected.

Condi should be defending herself against international war crimes charges instead of being a professor at Stanford. This endorsement might help Whitman during the Repug primary but it should be the kiss of death in the general election.

If either of them had, it woud be the same as it is for Obama. People like McConnell does not want to respect a black president. Many will deny it, but that is 90% of the problem if not 100%. They are fighting to make sure every effort of the presidnet fails even if it means being caught in lies on tape supporting the very things they are fighting against.
