Democrat could give Texas governor a run for his money

Dallas, Texas (CNN) - Bill White, the former Houston mayor, isn't just Rick Perry's Democratic opponent in the Texas governor's race.

He's Perry's polar opposite.

Bald, diminutive and soft-spoken, White offers a stark contrast to the swaggering, movie-star-handsome governor. If Rick Perry is a modern-day conservative cowboy, White is a practical-minded accountant, eager to chat about education funding, balancing budgets and the Public Utility Commission of Texas.

"Maybe I'm not the most glamorous of all the candidates, but my words are my own and they are the words that I am hearing from the people of Texas," White declared during a campaign stop Monday in Dallas.

It's about time Texas stopped being runned by these republican cowboys. Bush and Perry are like twin brothers.

I don't think my fellow Texans will suddenly start thinking about their own welfare. I think they will elect another group of Conservatives to lead the state. I think Texas will continue to have a high dropout rate, low wages, crappy benefits, and admittedly low taxes. Texans have a love affair with wealthy people. They want them to be richer. They want the oil, gas, banking, and real estate industries to continue to run the state. They want the middle class to continue to struggle. Texans are a hard-headed bunch, and once they get an idea into their heads they will ignore the facts year after year after year.

Former Sanctuary City Mayor Bill White was the perfect liberal for The City Of Houston. The City of Houston is full of deadbeats with their hands out waiting for handouts and Former Sanctuary City Mayor Bill White was there for them. Texas if full of hard working Americans that don't stand around waiting for handouts. Hard working Texans out number the deadbeats. Perry will win this election hands down.

Perry is a typical GOP thug and hypocrite..... Notice how he covered up a botched arson case that led to the execution of an innocent man..... Perry is a liar and hypocrite.

For the sake of our nation, I hope the Democratic party, a.k.a. The Free Handout party, doesn't win any elections in 2010.

Good news for the good people of Texas.

A real Democrat is the best thing for the moment. Bill White is an individual who can make a difference in peoples lives.

    Perry is a disgrace.

The Democrat has absolutely no chance of winning, but hey, CNN should do its best to promote the Dems candidacy anyway. Mind as well be a partisan cheerleader for dem candidates rather than a news organization. Its the CNN way.

If he can show enough Texans that he can do a better job, then more power to him. Perry strikes me as a pompus... Well, I have to say that he needs to focus on running his state. Maybe White can do a better job and get down to running the state.
