(CNN) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a longtime ally of Rep. Charlie Rangel, said in a statement she has accepted his request for a leave of absence from the House Ways and Means chairmanship:
"Chairman Charlie Rangel has informed me of his request for a leave of absence from his duties and responsibilities as Chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means. I will honor his request.
"I commend Chairman Rangel for his decades of leadership on jobs, health care, and the most significant economic issues of the day."

NO, I honestly beleive he is doing this on his own. NO, I really beleive no one encouraged him to do this. These are the remarks made by my Republican Response Machine.
Rangel needs to resign from the house completely. His presence makes the Democrats look corrupt.
Leave of Absence? If Pelosi was sincere in her words, "draining the swamp" she would've demanded his resignation. Oh that's right, Rangel is a DEMOCRAT. That does make a difference.
