New York (CNNMoney.com) - Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh is saying adios to the Big Apple and selling his Fifth Avenue penthouse for almost $14 million.
Limbaugh bought the 10-room condo at 1049 Fifth Ave. in 1994 under the name of R H Trust, according to city property documents. The pad sprawls across nearly 5,000 square feet and two of its terraces overlook Central Park and its famous reservoir.
The pre-war property features a double living room; a wood-paneled library; four terraces; enormous baths; and a maid's room. But it's not for the faint of heart - or those afraid of a big renovation. The general appearance can be described as, well, ornate, with trompe l'oeil ceilings and mural-covered walls.

$14 Million is actually a bargain. Joan Rivers sold her place across the street, almost identical size, description, and bedrooms for $25 Million. Bill Clinton's digs he 'rents', also on Fifth is valued at around $20 Million.
Maybe Nancy Pelosi has stolen enough taxpayer money to buy it.

Wow. Who knew being an offensive idiot paid so well. No wonder Rush so likes the GOP. He fits in their tax bracket. This is disgusting. For Limbaugh to make a fortune spewing his poison is worse than steroid-taking Major League Baseball players being paid millions to play a game many of us would play for free. To me, it would be justice if Limbaugh were having to live on a fixed income (a Social Security check or unemployment benefits) and Jim Bunning were to hold up his check for awhile.

Smart move Rush, you left NY City because of the income taxes, no sense in paying that liberal hole property taxes too. An important question that nobody has asked: If the city of New York only values this property at $1.5M, then why is it really worth $14M? Somebody should investigate the circumstances of this.
Actually, perhaps another tactic is appropriate, one that Rush uses all the time...
I demand proof that Rush did not pay off the assessor. If he did, he is a criminal who owes a ton of money in back-taxes.
