Washington (CNN) - The House Ethics committee is investigating Rep. Eric Massa, D-New York.
In a short statement issued Thursday, the committee said it is "investigating and gathering additional information concerning matters related to allegations involving Representative Eric Massa."
Massa announced on Wednesday that he would not seek re-election due to health problems, but allegations of misconduct surfaced later in the day.

Mace ... good point. Heard of arm-twisting? The only reason this allegation became public was Massa was one of the few Democrats to vote "no" on the House health-care bill.

Does anyone who's commented so far know what the allegations even ARE yet? I think it's too soon to politicize it. And it's Rhodes Scholar, not Rhode Scholar.

It's true, Democrats have bad seeds the same as Republicans do. To claim that one side is innocent and the other filled with crooks and thieves is disingenuous. Scandal is scandal no matter what side it comes from. If Massa is guilty of wrongdoing he should be removed from office and I don't think you would find a Democrat that would disagree with that.
Where you will find Democrats hee-hawing about Republican scandals are in the ones that are ironic (i.e. Family Values advocate gets caught commiting adultery). Though, you can put money that the inverse is true also.

Why would Dems blame Bush, he has nothing to do with this. People need to stops protecting their own party's view or sharing their talking points. Think for yourself and judge things objectively without bias. Is that too much to ask for from the American public.
